Spoilers SNW photo: 'IT'S A FAAAAAKKKKEE'

The only thing that bothers me about this pic is that the Picard Maneuver hasn't been invented yet. :techman:

I think it Is a PR staged photo not from actual filming, with a different badge put on his uniform on a redressed Enterprise bridge used for a different ship, but I don't think it's photoshop.

Is it possible to download the original photo and have it analyzed it on a pixel level to see if has been digitally manipulated?

Digital manipulations leave traces which can be detected by high magnification and high xoom.

Also software exists at github which can do this.

Samual Cockings mentioned it in the video.

My God, I watched as much of the Trekyards thing as I could bear.

More than I should have.

The British guy, he, uh, like, can't, like, complete a sentence without, like, saying "like" something like four times. I had to shut the sound off and rely on the captions to stomach it.

.

It's a live show so they have to say theses things unlike highly scripted and edited shows.

Watch any live celebrity interviews wand there are plenty of ohhs and ahhs and ummms so its quite unfair.
If you listen on a regular basis you get used used to it.

They have huge amounts of content on their channel including ships and shows in detail.

Captain Foley is Canadian and likes to drink.

I. Don't. Care.

They're not celebrities, they don't speak well, have no camera presence and very little to say, which they say at length and repeatedly.*

*Well, yeah, but at least I don't do it on camera.

The FBI can. Why don't you email them?

I watch a lot of Youtube and a lot of amateur work. Trek Yards fails because it isn't entertaining.

Here's what they do in these live things - they sit there and fucking watch TV and ramble on about it, counting new subscribers and trying real hard to think of something controversial enough to say that people will swallow their bullshit line and post links on social media.

In this case, as so often with so many of them, they had nothing unique to add to the sparse information that was already all over Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, et al, so they fell back on "That, like, looks 'shopped to me, man."

And let's stress again that even if the image has been manipulated, it's not news of any kind. It's commonly done for PR purposes, Paramount has announced that Wesley plays James T. Kirk, not George or Sam or Tim, and he's wearing Captain's rank on the uniform with the different emblem on the candid street scenes of shooting in Toronto. He's Captain James T. Kirk of the starship Whichever.

Then why didn’t they use the software before making baseless accusations? CBS has announced that this is JTK. You still haven’t answered the question why, if it is photoshopped, that it makes a hill of beans of difference in the discussion?

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if you are one of the TrekYards guys trying to drum up clicks from a Star Trek message board. Which is pretty sad.

Since the "experts" on those YouTube videos at Trekyards tend to zoom in on ships all the time, you would think they would have done it in this case to see if seams at the neckline were digital, etc.

Instead they throw something out there to try and stir a discussion and maybe attention to their unwatchable channel.

You may remember Vreenak from ds9 and that famous line.

This pertains to the SNW photo of Wesley sitting in a bridge chair.

Esteemed and renowned Star Trek aficionados Captain Foley and Samuel Cockings have analyzed the photo in detail and have raised doubts that it is actually Wesley sitting in the chair.

Their contention is that the head of Wesley has been photoshopped on someone else's body.

The bring evidence in the form of shoulder pads ,lighting ,head size mismatch ,creases in the uniform the positions of the hands on the armrests which is suspiciously similar to another photo which they show in a compare/contrast
study. Also the right hand arm crease matching the other photo.

They also comment on the lack of chair wood grain in the photo as well.

Coincidentally they also had a fan film in the works called Forward Farragut which is associated with Kirk in the early years.

BTW, for future reference when you're spreading your BS elsewhere: Actual "champions of the truth" don't have to call themselves that in order to try and bolster their claims. They just present the facts and their (usually extensive and/or firsthand) supporting evidence and let people come to their own conclusions.

The moment you showed up calling yourself "truthchampion" I figured the truth was about the furthest thing from what we were going to be hearing from you, and your posts in this and other threads have borne that out. You're trying too hard to sell us your snake oil.

Half the so-called media/political commentators and "fans" on Youtube seem to be trying to make their livings by provoking dudes who are watching to pound the table, exclaim "See? See, this guy agrees with me!!!" and select "Copy/Paste."
