Buddy's kidneys are better, but his liver is worse. We're giving him meds and food 4 times a day. Due to that, he's pooping everywhere. I feel like a new mom - exhausted and constantly cleaning. 
On the positive side, he's been getting up on the bed on his own (more climbing than jumping, but I'll take it) and behaving more normally (whiny and co-dependent). I finally feel a little hopeful.
His next check-up is Thursday 3/17.

Why this did not click earlier I do not know. I sent my wife an email on the subject. We got Zak from early stage four back to stage one. If she still has them I'll get you the resources we used.

Aminavast for kidney support was the main stuff.
Slippery Elm bark powder (give on empty tummy) to sooth the tummy. Don't give with other meds as it will inhibit their uptake.
2.5 mg Famotidine twice a day for acid. I don't know how the Famotidine will do with the liver.
Vitamin B-12 for energy. Jarrow's B-Right capsules is the brand. Break the capsules open and give about 1/8 of the contents.
Omega 3 & 6 fish oil. I got the pet stuff from the Vitamin Shoppe.
These were all in support of his kidneys. For liver, you'd need something else.
