Not to be confused with Batman (1989), or the upcoming A Batman and That Batman! :)

Just came back from the cinema from seeing it and I thought it was pretty good. It doesn’t reinvent the character in any way but the story was good, if not a little long.
They clearly have taken inspiration from Geoff Johns Earth-1 series this time; with a less experienced Batman who makes mistakes, to the Material about the Wayne and Arkham families. Even Alfred is seen to have a limp.

Overall I would give it a B. Not my favourite iteration of him, but no where near the worst.

Saw it today in full 15/70 IMAX.

Enjoyed it quite a bit. Concur with the Earth-One inspiration. No false notes on the cast. Perhaps a touch long (but I never felt it overstayed its welcome). Action moments are not constant, so have more impact when they occur. Can’t see how it would ever fit into the DCEU, so a wise choice to let stand alone.

Did anyone else notice that a Robin is indeed in this movie? Jay Lycurgo, who plays Tim Drake in Titans appears at the beginning of this movie as a reluctant gang member.

I can't believe that's Collin Farrel as the Penguin. Did he go full DeNiro and gain all that weight or is that makeup and a fat suit?

He was on James Corden the other night with Patrick Stewart and he said it was make-up and a fat suit. Took close to four hours every day to get into costume.

Amazing job. It's also better for his health that way thought I'm sure the four hour process gets irritating.

He and around 10 to 15 makeup artists tested it on the WB lot in LA with him going to a Starbucks

Suffice to say he did get some looks from people. Just imagine this imposing person drinking his coffee with that scowl on his face.

After watching the movie about 5 hours ago, I'll admit that it was fairly well done. Definitely was different and some of the changes in Batman mythos were intriguing, but, not sure I agree with them. Still lot about the film gave a bit more realistic approach than some of the more fantastical feats/accomplishments in other versions of Batman.

One item that often bothers me about Batman films is that the Batman suit seems to take much more punishment than either bulletproof, Kevlar, or plate inserts are capable of taking.

His boots bother me the most. Can’t be very stealthy when they make a noise like that.

He probably uses the bat-stealth boot mode then. :)

I think the best thing about this movie was the casting of Paul Dano as The Riddler. That was an outstanding performance, and those scenes at the end of the movie reminded me of Heath Ledger as The Joker. Pattinson was pretty good as Batman, but I feel like the first half of the movie anyone could have played him because he didn't have much lines of dialogue. It was really the facial stuff that sold him as Batman, but I guess he was going for an emo look or something? Even as an orphan he was born in a family of Privilege but I didn't really get that from this Bruce Wayne. I think my big issue with the movie is the same I have with a lot of these comic book movies right now. They are long and I feel like maybe an hour or just a half an hour could have been cut with nothing lost. Other than that, it was a good movie and I'm glad I saw it.

I have not read the comic book by the way and my favorite Batman Movie is still The Dark Knight.

I’ve worked out the perfect villain for the sequel.

Saw it last night. Thought it was a really awesome. Gotham really is the worst place to live and I can't imagine why anyone would stay there. Metropolis is literally across the Bay!

Jokes aside. I thought this movie could've used an R-rating. I know people complain about Snyder's films, but this was dark with Frank Miller/Tarantino ultra-violence. So many visceral scenes and not a lot of blood. I'm genuinely surprise they went for it in a lot of place.

I did feel the film went on for too long. When they caught the Riddler and put him in Arkham, I was surprised there was another finale on top of the one we just had at the Iceberg Club. It felt like a "everything and the kitchen sink" to drive the point home about Gotham needing saving.

Speaking of needing saving. When the levees were bombed around the city and the flooding began. Myself and the group I was with were all thinking "this would be a REALLY good time to call the Justice League". Hahaha.

I gave this film an A. I'll likely be seeing it again in theaters soon.

A- from me. I really enjoyed it. A bit long yes, the bat-fringe was a bit emo but it was more how I like my Batman - a detective. The end set price wasn’t a massive CGI nightmare it looked real enough and the stakes weren’t insanely high.
Best Catwoman ever for sure, and best exploration of their relationship. Not sure about the bat-suit but the story is more important.
    Patterson’s facial acting is superb.

Maybe he should invent some noise cancelling shoes. Call them “sneakers” because you….never mind

Just got back from the theater and definitely enjoyed the film. Good story and I liked that the was some detective work in addition to the beat downs. Robert Pattinson has the best Batman voice so far in a movie. More Gordan than I thought we'd get, but he didn't seem to do much other than tag along with Bats. The cast as a whole was good.

The movie was certainly a bit too long and felt like 3 hours. The amount of gunfire Batsy takes is pretty crazy too. At least he seems to take a little damage from the impact of the bullets.

I hope they do another with the same cast.
