Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

There's a new interview with Jeri Ryan in the new SFX magazine - someone has kindly posted it on Tumblr here. Mostly general discussion of the upcoming season and the new relationship with Raffi. She also says that, to facilitate filming during a pandemic, the cast was mostly split up into pairs for the entire season, which is a shame - one of the joys of an ensemble show like this is watching the group dynamics form and develop, the way different characters bounce off one another, the different types of relationship they build, so it's a pity we won't get to see much of that here, especially since this particular group didn't fully get together until the end of last season, so hasn't had much opportunity for that kind of bonding yet - but understandable, of course, in the circumstances.

That said, we know from the trailers that they aren't exclusively in pairs all the time, there are larger group scenes, so hopefully there will still be plenty of wider interaction among the characters.

Well, this type of storytelling has worked before for Trek, namely TVH and (to a lesser extent) TUC.

There's only so much character building you can do in 10 episodes, but nevertheless being paired off doesn't negate that from happening.

I know. And acknowledged as much in my post. Doesn't stop it being a shame that more general group interaction is unlikely, for those of us that enjoy group dynamics. Unavoidable, in the circumstances, and I'm intrigued to see how they've managed it - no doubt, as other shows have found, the creativity they've been forced into will have opened as many storytelling doors as the restrictions closed.

Might be a coincidence, or not. But Star Trek Online social media accounts are also doing a weird ARG countdown that will end at the same time as the premier of Season 2.

12AM Pacific yesterday and today they posted a red alert graphic which said '7 Cannon' and today's was '6 Cannon'. Plus a single word in the text in the rot13 cypher, yesterday's word was 'Maybe', today is 'The'

Might be some tie-in

and read Diane Duane's Romulan novels. The video contains spoilers so be alert.
I am now intrigued enough with the new season of Picard to plop down some change and binge watch it.

What talented team of writers can scifi Jesus and the Kingdom of God on earth.
1. Jesus did not come to tell us all to be nice to each other, die on the cross, rise on the third day and disappear.
2 He came to establish the Kingdom of God on earth.
3. Jesus is the Boss of bosses then.
4. He came to call the meek, the pure of heart, the disconsolate, the merciful, the peacemakers and those who hunger and thirst after righteousness.
5. Jesus body did not revive in the tomb. It was transformed into another mode of existence. He could appear, eat food and go away at will.
6. He told his followers they would rule and reign with him.

Are these the people from "Wolf in the fold?" I posted before that a truly immortal race is undefeatable. They also can't be assimilated. What is the purpose of the Kingdom of God on earth? It's to gain the upper hand in creating the future. Our minds work as we sleep trying to achieve our desires. The Kingdom of God multiplies this power exponentially. I'll tell you a secret. Religious observance of any kind, prayer, meeting, etc links minds. Tha's what group prayer does.
This is why certain groups HATE Christianity. It threatens THEIR power over the future.

Whatever the heck this is supposed to be, I've merged it into the General Discussion Thread.

Picard had the symbol for fractal neuronal cloning as a belt buckle in AGT

Dave Blass has posted S2 art team credits. Mike Okuda did work on S2. For some reason I thought he only came on Season 3, Denise seems to be missing she might only be on S3. Jim Martin is also listed as a concept artist, probably best known as the designer of the Defiant. Sean Hargreaves worked on Star Trek Beyond.

Two Cryptic Studios (Star Trek Online developers) ship designers are also listed at the bottom of one of the lists.
