To be fair, as someone past 50, there's still some... "stigma" isn't the right word... but we have a culture that puts a premium on Youth and Beauty, so aging can be rough. Plus, it was somewhat different in the 80s (as I vaguely recall...).

Wow, there really is a lot of new stuff in that trailer. I shouldn't be surprised that we're getting another new Starfleet uniform as I think Lower Decks S2 might be the only new season of NuTrek not to introduce at least one of them, but somehow I am surprised. It used to be that you could tell what era of Trek you were in by the uniforms, now you can use them to tell what month it is. So that's convenient I guess.
The uniforms look good though, I like them. I like almost everything from that trailer in fact, and the main thing I don't like is that I'm spoiling all the surprises for myself.

His badge also has a gold delta. In Season 1 they were all silver.
Though that could also be the lighting.
They're wielding phaser rifles I doubt it. This is probably Alt-2399
LD kinda did though. We got the LD style version of the dress uniforms.
Borg Skull? Is Seven looking at her own skull, ala Time's Arrow?
The editing and the time travel implies that could be the case, but her implant would be sticking out where her eye is if that was true.
