Sam Rami to direct Dr Strange 2

Somehow, it feels more appropriate to me that if Deadpool were to show up in this movie, it'd be in a post credit scene. Perhaps even done similarly to the one at the end of the first Deadpool movie with him making fun of the audience for staying through the credits.

"What am I doing here in an MCU movie? What are you doing here long after the movie ended?"

Yeah, that works for me. Or him commenting on the ridiculousness of everything and how all of the IPs are becoming one.

This movie would make the most sense to introduce Deadpool in. Post credit scene of course. It's kinda about time that Marvel got on with his introduction.

Now that we have Wanda and Xavier surely the pieces are in place to introduce the X-Men.

They want us to think it's Xavier, but they aren't clearly showing us that it's Xavier, so that makes me think it's not actually going to be him.
To me this is kind of like TV show episode promos where they show a character get shot and they want us to think they're going to die or get seriously hurt, but then when the episode airs, they're wearing a bullet proof vest and get up perfectly fine right after what we saw in the trailer.
The more the trailers want us to think something, without actually showing it clearly, the more convinced that makes me that it's not what's actually happening.
So I'm not going to be convinced it's actually Xavier until either someone involved in the movie officially confirms it's him, or I see the movie.

This is exactly as clear as the NWH trailer that featured just the Goblin laugh. You'll probably clearly see he's Xavier in the next trailer.

Yeah, I tend to agree that Deadpool is something you save for a post-credits, both for the sake of tone and because he'd derail the movie as it's hard for him NOT to be the focus of any scene he's in.
As for Wolverine, I'd personally rather have Dafne Keen back than Jackman. No dis to Jackman or anything, it just feels right for the MCU Wolverine to be X-23 instead.

I can't really think of any major non-MCU cameos that would make sense AND have a large impact. They've already mined out all the good characters from the Sony Spider-Man films, that really just leaves X-Men and the only "oh crap!" type of cameos you can get from that other than Xavier, Wolverine & Deadpool, is probably Magneto. I'd say Quicksilver too, but I think they've rather burnt that bridge already.

I can't see Snipes getting involved, nor can I see anyone particularly caring about the Eric Bana Hulk, or Affleck Daredevil/Garner Elektra (plus I'm pretty sure Ben is DONE with superhero movies in general anyway.)

So what that leaves is REALLY famous people being cast either in new roles, like The Fantastic Four, or Namor, or as multiverse variants of existing ones.

In that case that laugh was specifically tied to that role, we didn't see anything that specific here, all we saw as the back of his head and a little bit of a collar.

You could have just as easily claimed it was a different character laughing.

Not really, since that was a very specific laugh that was associated with that character. We didn't get anything that specific here, since Patrick Stewart uses the same voice, and the back of his head looks pretty much the same in the majority of his live action roles.
Yes, OK there is a chance he is playing Xavier, but based just on what we saw in the trailer, there is at least as much of a chance that he is playing a different character.

So.......

After a whole movie setting up a multi-verse where several actors reprised their roles from previous non-MCU Marvel movies, the next big installment dealing with said multiverse has Patrick Mothereffing Stewart in it......

And people think he's not playing (a version of) Charles Xavier.....?

Right.
