Rita Ora was going to have a role in the show. And depending on whose story you read, the show has been (indefinitely) delayed, not canceled. Variety mentions creative issues* combined with scheduling and weather difficulties. *What a lovely euphemism. Could mean anything from "we're still tweaking the script" to "this thing is shit and needs a page one rewrite."
I had considered dropping Netflix, but then I remembered I would be losing Cobra Kai and The Witcher if I did that. Not an option, dammit!
Yeah, for two shows, one of which puts out episodes every two years, you can do one month a year and binge your heart away.
Yeah, I know. BIG It has occurred to me to take this kind of action. I did it that very thing with Paramount+ before they started putting out a constant stream of episodes for multiple concurrent series. It's just kind of a pain in the ass to go through that every year. But the higher costs they're forcing us to pay is starting to look more and more like a smart move to engage in such drudgery.
I wonder how long the streamers will continue to let that happen? I can see them changing it so that trial viewers can only watch X episodes of a particular show and have to sign up to watch them all. Sort of like what they do with 'free' software these days with functionality being reduced.
You have to give them your credit card number for the free trial. So, really you can only get one free trial per however many credit cards you have. Or you use one of those websites that creates a proxy credit card number, just for situations like this, and hotels who get annoyed when you steal towels. No more free trial for Disney Plus.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's upcoming fifth season (season four starts dropping tomorrow) will be it's last.
Well, hopefully it'll end on a good, planned note since they know well in advance. Speaking of which, Stranger Things will also end after its fifth season (the fourth comes out in two parts this summer).
That sucks but it's I guess always better to end on high note than to last to long. I really enjoy the show though.
