Spoilers Book of Boba Fett [Spoiler Discussion]

You know it's possible for a character to stay dead AND tell new stories with them, right? Anyone remember that time Obi-Wan died? Or Anakin? Didn't stop those guys from getting whole shows built around them. Also, Cassian Andor is apparently getting at least two seasons and we know what happens to him.

1. Tactics, tactics, tactics. First, why does Fennic do all the thinking on this show?
As we saw from Mando, bounty hunting is in and out legalized snatch and grab. Assassins plot, set up, hit from strategic position, all hopefully unseen. Thinking things through is what sets her apart. I wouldn't have expected her to just be a female Boba.
Second, why do they all stand around in the ruins with their thumbs up their butts for so long?
Waiting for their expected troops to arrive, leaving us in the know about last ep to wonder.
3. When they finally do get out and do something, why do they bunch up like cheerios in a bowl of milk, where one proton grenade can get them all?
For the most part they were cornered in dead-pockets of town.
Lastly, and mostly: YOU'VE GOT JET PACKS! WHY DO YOU STAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FRICKIN' STREET INSTEAD OF TAKING THE HIGH GROUND THE BADDIES ARE USING AGAINST YOU?!?!
Using the packs is exactly what they did. The scene was drawn out to give us a show.
2. Did anyone else notice that the rickshaw was faster than the vespas? I swear, those silly, chromatic scooters and the space-goth/ hipster? misfit gang were the worst parts of this show.
I wanted my own "vespa" as soon as I saw them, preferably with Sophie Thatcher cuddled up to me on the back.
3. I question Luke Skywalker's judgement, sending Grogu out on his own with Artoo and his X-wing.
Luke made it clear to Grogu if he chose the shirt he would go back to Mando. R2 and the X-Wing were faster and safer than a passenger flight connecting through Naboo.
5. Blasters were shown to be the most ineffectual weapons in existence in this episode...
Just like Trek phasers that work against everything but the bad guys ;)
At the last, we get to see that the marshal survived. Thank the Force for that, at least!
I'm with you there!!

Maul died in Obi-Wan's arms and was likely buried by the Jedi in some respectful ceremony befitting such a formidable adversary for which he'd come in the very end to have respect.

Unfortunately, you are quite right. That is the trend now, between Maul, Fett, Palpatine. It's a mixed bag. With a character like Bane I would prefer he stay dead. He doesn't add very much to the lore and is largely there as part of the "rule of cool" characters Filioni likes.

I expect Bane is well and truly dead. It's clear from story concepts they had to shelve for The Clone Wars that Boba killing him was always Filoni's endgame for the character, and now we've come full circle.

But as there is a 25 year gap between his last chronological appearance and this, I would also expect it's not the last we've seen of Cad Bane. There is plenty of room for more sinister tales of the baddest gunslinger in the galaxy in the missing period.

Also, while I'll give you Palpatine from the above quote (made sense thematically, but SO poorly executed), Fett was pretty clearly always envisioned as having survived the Sarlacc. And Maul was never character in his "first" life, so he's a bad example. He got SO MUCH MORE interesting after he was brought back, and the mechanics of his "resurrection" make perfect sense within the context of the world. The Dark Side is powerful, and it's entire focus is on avoiding and overcoming death (well, when not focused on causing it, anyway). And, as we've repeatedly seen (ie, Vader), droid parts and the Force go a long way.

Outside of the big battles, anyone disappointed that most of the fighting was just standing out in the open and shooting lasers at each other?

Put him in the comics where I can well ignore his ridiculous "baddest" adventures.

To be perfectly clear I don't have a problem with characters coming back, as long as it makes sense in the world. Palpatine coming back works fine for me because you have Maul and other Dark Side magic already presented in the Clone Wars. Fett surviving the Sarlacc is a big *shrug* from me because, as you say about Maul, he wasn't a character when he went in to the Sarlacc to begin with.

It's all in how it fits within the larger story. For me, it's all about whether or not I care about the characters. Regarding Bane, he is a character that is well done in the idea that he produces an emotional reaction from me. The reaction is disgust and nausea, but it's a reaction nonetheless. *sarcastic golf clap to Filoni*

No. I think more needs to be done with blasters.

The fewer ships doing strafing runs on city streets the better. I like that they used the Pyke Syndicate equivalent of Destroyer Droids to attack Boba's forces and didn't just send a cruiser over Mos Espa to rain blaster fire or bombs on everything.

It was an OK episode. As already said, a bit predictable. I really liked how Grogu chose Din and that moment between them. And I loved how Peli Motto helped out in the fighting.

Fennec is the one who should be running things obviously. Loved how she took everyone out in the end. No speeches, no quarter. What will happen next season?

The best part for me was the back and forth between Din and Boba...

Boba: I suppose you'll be heading out?

Din: I'm not.

Boba: You should.

Din: It's against the creed. I gave you my word. I am with you until we both fall.

Boba: You really buy into that bantha fodder?

Din: I do.

Boba: Good.

I lol'ed when Boba said good, wasn't expecting it.

I didn't realize it was already time for the finale. I'm avoiding spoilers until I actually get the chance to watch it. Hopefully this does a good job of tying together the various storylines that have been introduced. And hopefully Boba is actually in the episode for longer than 30 seconds.

Kor

Does shooting a droid shield do anything? Like is there any cumulative effect because it seemed like taking pot shots was just a waste of time.

decent finale, but a mess of a series.

the good

Grogu (chosing Din/Mando, the jump into his arms, not being overpowered, the "push the Hyperspeed-button-nagging")
Boba Fett and Cad Bane's western standoff and a fight. Liked how it was "his Tusken-people's stick" to beat Bane (though with the light flashing I'm not sure if he's really dead).
Mando and Boba Jetpack-assisted fighting the Pyke syndicate and robo-weapon-walkers
Cobb Vanth in the bacta tank and being prepped for modding. So he is likely (hopefully) back in the future "sheriffing" and more.
Peli Motto and her funny robots bringing Grogu straight to the action and comedy overall
Fennec Shand being again the smart one and badass taking out the Pyke syndicate on the planet (for now)
Boba and Mando's talk before the fight

the bad
the "mario karts" are just dumb (don't mind the mod people)
the "KingKong-ing" of the "monster thing"
the different Tusken tribes not being involved at all in the series, other than the flashbacks is a shame.

the ugly
what a mess of a series.
As much as I love Mando/Grogu there was not need to bring Grogu into the Book of Boba Fett, let alone the (idiotic) Luke Skywalker training/school story.
