How often do you watch Star Trek?

Every week I watch the newest episodes, and randomly I'll get in the mood to watch reruns so I'll DVR some on during the day through the work week (Space channel reruns classic Trek Mon - Fri: TOS Monday, TNG Tuesday etc.) and watch them on the weekend.

The question was specific to TOS.

I watched The Doomsday Machine today.

Some serious scenery chewing!

Oh, and Kirk’s shirt was green.

Just sayin’

Yes, there many gorgeous shots in “The Doomsday Machine” utilizing all four colors of uniforms.

As often as I possibly can. Over Christmas I watched The Undiscovered Country (masterpiece - better than I remembered), Generations (since it has a Christmas scene - also very good and an underrated favorite of mine) and "Arena," the latter with a brand new fan of the show. Spoiler alert - Kirk and the Gorn did it. We have a new, very young devotee.

I really don't like Generations. Killing off Kirk indeed. :angryrazz:

Don’t forget TVH next Christmas—that Christmasey Main Title!!

Not sure what that means; sorry.

Regarding Generations, I forgot to mention that when it first came out, it was mid-to-late November of 1994, and since movies stayed in theaters for a while back then, I saw it once or twice in-theater not long before Christmas. That plus Picard's Christmastime fantasy in the Nexus has always associated the film with Christmas for me. I had been planning for years to watch it again around Christmas and finally did so, and I was happy.

Next time I watch Star Trek, I need to find another episode that might appeal to the budding young fan I mentioned above. Arena worked well. For some reason I had in mind Metamorphosis for the next one, but I haven't decided. The joy of sharing Star Trek with someone so young can't be overstated.

You never know what's going to go over well. "Arena" was not well received (except by me). "Tomorrow is Yesterday" was beloved by some and mediocre to others. Everyone like "The Naked Time" but it's better, like "Mirror, Mirror" to watch after one's seen some others. "Balance of Terror" and "The Man Trap" all did well among new viewers, although BoT underwhelmed some of the folks not into the whole war movie thing.

If he liked Arena, I'd suggest The Corbomite Maneuvzer, Errand Of Mercy, and maybe even Journey to Babel.

Last week I finished my episode a week of Enterprise Season 1 and am not going back to Season 2 til October. But I was getting sick of Farscape and thought I'd put something else into it's slot, so I thought why not try some TOS. So I watched "Where No Man Has Gone Before" and am going to watch some episodes I haven't seen or don't remember like "Conscience of the King" and "Obsession" and some of those episode where Kirk goes and breaks the Prime Directive to help primitive people. And I think the idea was there because I walked past the TV and I slowly realised it was "Turnabout Intruder" and I thought "Hey that actually doesn't look too bad." I was doing other stuff so I didn't stay but I think I may even check that out.

You might enjoy watching the weekly "as they come out" airings we're doing. With period commercials!

It was a very sad moment, right up there with the death of Spock and the destruction of the Enterprise. Partly for those reasons I don’t have much fondness for the films. They felt like they were trying to deliberately bury TOS.
