What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

True, but I don't really consider them pockets, because they were used for a specific item, in that case the Type I phaser.

Real pockets: you can put different things in it. Like the ENTERPRISE uniforms. Or Beverly's coat.

Given the amount of technobabble in some series, they'd probably not refer to them as 'pockets' but as 'general purpose diminutive object retention space technology', or some such term.

I'll just call them "Pockets" because that's what they are.

But they'll have nice Zippers on them, maybe even with magnetic and/or velcro covering flaps to hide the zippers.

I wouldn't want your stuff falling out randomly or have some pick pocket easily steal your stuff.

I'd like to make the Pick Pockets go through ALOT of trouble if they want to steal your stuff that's in your pocket.

Please. Kirk and crew would kick his purple ass.

Now THAT'S controversial! Kirk AND crew (Bones) were literally run off a cliff by a bunch of primitives, dressed in red rags, who hadn't even invented the wheel. Sissies. The real Kirk fought, then beat, then spared the Gorrrrrn! And he kissed Uhura! Kelvin Kirk got dumped on his trainer sculpted butt.

He also seduced a 19 year old girl when he was 34... there's your hero.

Controversial Opinion: Anything from TOS that sounds more like it should be in the Mad Men era than the 23rd Century should be retconned out of canon in active Star Trek. That's what they're doing anyway, but yet somehow this common sense opinion is still "controversial".

I understand that TOS was made in a particular time and place, and I take that into consideration when watching the show, but today's Star Trek shouldn't be held to it. They (in general) didn't know better during the '60s, we do.

That's what I've been saying for years!

like what. “Mad Men era” seems like such a generic term.

I think you could start with 'getting used to a woman on the bridge' and 'your world of starship captains doesn't admit women', as well as the repeated portrayal of supposedly professional female officers as panicky and dependent and generally weak/unskilled in a fight and more easily convinced to betray their crewmates because the bad guy is tall, dark and handsome.
