Hell, that's nothing. We Jews only use half of the Bible! It wasn't until my stepmother's funeral a few months ago that I learned, Catholics don't say all of the Lord's Prayer.
dem manne kann geholfen werden*I posted this in the "What religion/faith are you?" thread, but I'll repeat it here...
It wasn't until my stepmother's funeral a few months ago that I learned, Catholics don't say all of the Lord's Prayer.
They stop at the part about "deliver us from evil". They don't say the last bit - "For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever, Amen."
Kind of blew my mind, to be honest.
(my dad and I are Lutheran, but my stepmom came from a Catholic family)
Yep. I had a better education (in general) than my friends who went to public school. My high school was considered college prep; some crazy high number of grads went on to college.I went to Cattholic school kindergarten through grammar school. I'll say one thing about Catholic school - I didn`t need to take a book home the first two years of public hign school except for chemistry. Those mirror-universe nuns had pounded it all into me except for higher levels of math and science.
I believe you.i have to insist that i still am, mam

Thank you! That's fascinating and I never learned that in school. The translation he uses has some interesting differences from how I memorized it as a child too.dem manne kann geholfen werden*

It's been some years since I've been to church, plus different parishes can be quite... different. The church I grew up going to in the northeastern US is considered VERY old fashioned by the Catholics I know here in Arizona.you're welcome - do catholics in the states use king james? i really like that language
methinks that is, excluding trespass, kjv - should be debt and debtorsIt's been some years since I've been to church, plus different parishes can be quite... different. The church I grew up going to in the northeastern US is considered VERY old fashioned by the Catholics I know here in Arizona.
Let's test my memory, shall we?
"Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen."
Ah, stuff memorized in childhood...![]()
Most foods are still safe beyond the date posted with some exceptions. "Best by" is when maximum freshness is implied.Today I stupidly drank a bottled beverage that had a "best by" date of May 31, 2021. Didn't think to check the date before I drank it, but realized it didn't taste quite right so I went to check the bottle and YIKES! It's been 4 or 5 hours and I haven't been sick yet....
what is a twinkie?I haven't had a Twinkie in a loooong time. The last one I had made me so sick. My brother had a part time job in a grocery store when he was in high school. He brought some outdated Twinkies home one day. I think they were only a couple of months past the date at the most. It was bad.

i looked it up but quite frankly i think i don't need them
Me neither.i looked it up but quite frankly i think i don't need them
i don't believe for a second that actually 'attenting' pon farr would remind me of better not 'attenting' more oftenTwinkies are a bit like Pon Farr. You are compelled to eat one at least once every seven years and then are reminded why you don't eat them more often.
