Well that’s no fun.
I never liked their decision of reverting her paralysis. I always thought she was good role model for handicap people put there.
According to a 3 part story running through Flash, Green Lantern and Green Arrow back in the 90s, the U.S. in DC Comics have an amendment allowing super heroes to testify without revealing their identity. Superman also testifies in the Challengers of the Unknown's trial.
That was so many Earth's ago.
Once in Marvel, they used a double blind system, random heroes show up to Avengers Mansion, go into a confessional booth, unmask, facial recognition records who they are, and then later they can use that data to verify their identity, without an actual person ever knowing the secret identity or unmasked face.

While I prefer Babs as Oracle because I see her as much more of notable (high-B to A list supporter rather than D-list hero) character in that role, my primary issue was the cavalier, off-screen approach to "bringing her back" and the occasional treatment of the her time in the chair as "old shame weakness", I'd be a lot less anti the plotline if they'd actually spent some time showing her weighing the pros and cons, going through the procedure, going through rehab etc, because that would at least give the issue some weight rather throwing it away as something to be casually fixed and moved on from.
Familiar with schools on Military Bases? The diversity among students and their interest at these schools can either be quite diverse or oddly enough, quite homogenous. Since based on the set-up so far this "takes place" in a community located near a military base, it is possible.
Her adventuring as Batgirl has placed a lot of strain on the implant that lets her walk so she's dialed back her time in the cape and cowl to part-time.
I’m quite enjoying this show. I came for the Superman connections — which are still sprinkled liberally throughout the second episode — but Naomi is entertaining on its own terms as well.
I'm afraid I'm not getting into the show at this point. I'm not that engaged by the characters; several of Naomi's Scooby-Gang friends are kind of broad caricatures, particularly Annabelle and her nerdy boyfriend. And the situation is still too vague for me to have a good sense of what the show is actually about. I'm tempted just to stop watching, but the problem is, since I don't know what this is leading to, what if it is something I'll be interested in? But how much longer to I want to wait to find out?
Anyway, it's looking like Naomi's parents aren't in on the conspiracy after all. Her father wasn't in the loop about aliens until just now. Since they don't know the specifics of the crash that killed Naomi's parents, it sounds like someone placed her with them and didn't tell them where she came from. I suppose that's a relief. Then again... we only know her father isn't in on it. And given how much effort they put into showing how cool and popular her mother is with the smoothies and pasta and such, that kind of feels like setting up some later shocking revelation about her not being what she seems. That sounds a bit paranoid, but shows like this are about conspiracies being real.

This episode was pretty good. One negative is Zumbado, either the actor playing him isn’t that good or they need to start writing him better.
We basically got confirmation that this is definitely an alternate Earth to the Arrowverse Earth which seems like a missed opportunity for tie-ins with Superman & Lois. I mean, I kind of get the benefit of having no existing canon to worry about, but it just seems lazy on the producers’ part. They can have easily placed this within the Arrowverse if they wanted to.

Per Crisis, though, every DC screen universe is an alternate Earth within the multiverse. And if Superman is believed to be a fictional character on this Earth but actually exists, it follows that he and Dee are from a different parallel Earth, one whose real adventures become fiction on Naomi's Earth in the way that Jay Garrick's Earth-Two adventures became the comic books that inspired Barry Allen on Earth-One (the Silver Age comics version). Recall that Superman was a fictional character on Black Lightning's Earth before the Crisis merged the worlds. So if it could happen there, it could happen on this show's Earth as well.
Don't see why not placing it in the Arrowverse is such a bad decision.
Until the Crisis cross-over and largely afterwards, Black Lighting took the same approach and was in no way worse off for it.
Also saves the bleating about why was X there to help out when shit got bad that we've seen in some of the other threads.
This is an assumption in the actual aftermath of the CoIE event itself, and one that I don't think is warranted.
We see many of them.
We see most of them destroyed, and only 5 recreated.
Oddly enough, ones were DC TV shows and films are set. Think that might be precedent.
The only Multiversal world that predated the Arrowverse that we saw restored was Earth-96 (AKA the 'Donnerverse').
We were later given hints in interviews that Earth-167 (the Smallville-verse) was also restored, but its restoration wasn't definitively confirmed.
With or without confirmation that Earth-167 was restored, though, it's still an assumption that the Arrowverse's internal Multiverse still encompasses every live-action DC-related property ever post-CoIE and the recreation of the universe by Oliver, and one that, as noted, I dont think is warranted.

BL didn't have the same mentor/mentee relationship comic book Naomi has with Superman.
I get the sense they're using Dee as the surrogate mentor in this version. Instead of Superman, it's another superpowered flying guy who's buds with Superman.
