The Snark was a Ron Cobb concept design of what eventually became the Nostromo. I love this ship with the deployable long range antenna,

Much more lovely than Nostromo itself.

Now, I would love to see an Ariel/Discovery with that dish on her secondary hull’s belly. It looks like a dome flipped over…with a refit saucer’s sensor…but then it opens up, outside the Milky Way.

The second Lower Decks XL model is the USS Titan. I'll have to take a closer look at it to see if they've really used the new CG model from the show, but at least the warp nacelles do seem to be different.
Anyway, I think the "animated" style makes it it look worse than the existing model. It's a shame that they didn't decide to make an XL Titan before Lower Decks came along.

STU Collection #14 is the USS Nog.

I’m looking forward to larger models of the Titan and Prometheus.

Two observations on the Nog. It reproduces accurately the CGI asset, meaning it lacks the large name and registry from the side that was added in post-production. In STO, it’s been added.

The nacelles and ship are held by the stand. That’s gonna require some rethinking from me, because I normally throw the stands away. I might glue the parts into the stand and cut the stem off in order to play with the ship.

I now officially regret the whole detached-nacelle business. If it wasn’t for that, we’d already have models of the Janeway class from GamePrint.

And here I though I was the only one played with their ships. The Nog actually looks better here then on the show, but it's still a deal breaker as I don't buy them just to display them.

The Titan and the by extension the Cerritos are done in the style of Lower Decks, so that's a no for me. I do hope they do make an actually one as if it was part of the live action universe.

The Prometheus looks like the smaller model (more weathering). Based on the photos I don't see a significant improvement. Maybe we'll get some higher res images to dig into. It might be a no from me as well.

The Rocinante (wish the PDC canons weren't extended, but that's really the one thing I don't care for) and razorback are a yes. Not a Stargate fan(there are a handful I would like though) but the Goa'uld ha'tak attack ship looks pretty sweet.

I'm a bit disappointed that the Scorpion will indeed be a regular-scale bonus issue. It's not going to fit in with the only other Reman ship (Scimitar), or the kind-of-Reman looking Snakehead, or the last few TNG movie ships, all of which were larger.

Based on the previews, I’m still holding out hope for the Talarian Q’Maire and the “Year of Hell” (I mean the VOY episode, not real life ) ships.

Eaglemoss UK online shop seems to be out of stock for a good many models - I popped over as there's a "buy two ships, get the cheaper one 30% off" offer on, but hardly anything I want is stocked. On a science ship kick right now and would like either the standard size Nova or Rhode Island, the standard Pegasus and the Raven, but none available.

Polar Lights used to have a Scorpion kit. Out of production now, I think, but you can still find a bunch of them on eBay, reasonably priced. Also still available on Amazon.

The Facebook group has lots of images of today’s deliveries.

I’ve added a comparison shot of the USCSS Nostromo and it’s yellow XL counterpart, plus relevant excerpts from the Alien: The Blueprints book.

Compared to GamePrint, the Eaglemoss USS Concorde has more detail. The only advantage for the GamePrint version is that it has a visible, painted deflector dish.

Hopefully the SGC Daedalus remains in stock until my payday.

Hi Peeps!

Received the STO AFS Khitomer today - and such a great diecast it is!

Lots of nice detail befitting the design itself - which I’m a fan of (despite it being something of an outlier as a Trek design).

It’s the fifth EM diecast Trek ship I own, so very glad to have acquired it!

The McCall-class shuttle would be great addition - if it’s somewhat regular-sized. It’s the same family as the cool, angular Argo. I love having the Class C/Disco shuttle but it’s humongous.

I’m interested in the Synth ship too. In the STO mission that depicts the attack on Mars, there’s two classes of Synth ships - this frigate and a larger one. The frigate is called Deimos class - incidentally the name of a Section 31 class. Perhaps the result of 150 years of refits?

You've got to be kidding me... I don't believe for a second that Cyrano Jones' Spacematic or the non-canon shuttles they did are more popular than the Starfleet shuttle from "Endgame" or the ENT Inspection Pod.

This doesn't bode well for the McCall-class from PIC either...

I suspect it had absolutely nothing to do with running out of ideas or designs to use, but rather that too many people found them to be far too expensive for the sizes they made them. That's always been the most common and consistent complaint regarding the shuttle sets that I've seen over the years.

Yup, cost is the big reason I never bought more shuttles. I was lucky to find most of the ones I wanted as singles on eBay at relatively acceptable prices.

They sure are expensive... But if they didn't sell well, why would they have put so much filler in set 7 instead of making the last few well-known, canon ones? And why would they start doing alien ships in set 8, which they said are almost always less popular than Starfleet ships?

Bad decisions by management, most likely.

Ben has a lot of pull over what gets done, but at the end of the day, the suits in charge of the store make the final decisions, to which he must yield, albeit possibly under protest. Those guys never seem to have half a clue and almost universally make bad judgment calls on such things, which are driven by cold, detached numbers, rather than a functional knowledge of what the fandom wants. It is counterintuitive, I know, but it's how these businesses are run.

A perfect example is Rick Berman, when he said "We're all very pleased" with the Enterprise series finale, "These Are The Voyages", that is almost universally reviled by the fan base. It is the epitome of tone-deaf beancounter bullshit peddlery.

Presumably, this won't affect shuttles from post-2017 productions, as the Class C was covered in the Discovery collection. Therefore, the McCall, Type 6A etc will be covered in their respective current collections as main models.

Now, I agree that the "filler set 7" appears odd when we could have had the prominent, oft-requested NX inspection pod and unarmored SC-4. Are we going to get them in some fashion? Because, without Eaglemoss, there is no way to get a pre-painted, detailed model of either of these two vessels.
