For many years, the only place I saw them was in barbershops.
The same kind of spray bottle (maybe even the exact same prop) is also seen in sick bay in Space Seed. That type of plastic spray bottle with the trigger/nozzle top was fairly new-ish at the time. It had just been invented at the beginning of the decade, when improvements in materials manufacturing made it possible to make a plastic bottle and spray mechanism like that, which was durable enough for repeat use instead of being brittle and easily broken.
This reminded me of a crackerjack thread right here at TBBS: https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/props-re-used.81174/I suppose I should know this…but….
I seem to recall that there was a web site dedicate to all the props; explaining their background , origins, etc. Does it still exist? And, should the styrofoam cup be added ?
Have any of you tried to use a standard spray bottle to add milk or cream into your own coffee?1961 patent:

There are definitely differences of detail, but overall pretty similar.

Wow, I wasn’t aware of this site. This is super cool and totally a “rabbit hole” to go down for a few hours. Topping off my morning coffee cup, I’ll see y’all later!
Make sure it's the kind of cup that we've been talking about here.Wow, I wasn’t aware of this site. This is super cool and totally a “rabbit hole” to go down for a few hours. Topping off my morning coffee cup, I’ll see y’all later!
Thank you!
Great thread! I’ve always been horrible about my search ability. Pity that many of the websites linked are no longer in operation. This reminded me of a crackerjack thread right here at TBBS: https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/props-re-used.81174/
The web site your looking for might be referenced somewhere in those 26 pages.

He's still using 21st Century Hydraulic Arms on his Spore Chamber Door.
