It looks like tape to me. And it would be a very quick way to do it. But that's just an educated guess on my part, not fact.

This pic shows a cup with a rolled edge (maybe paper?) They are stubby little cups regardless of who made them.
Maybe Desilu had these made for their studios and the prop master decided to use them for the TOS series?

Look at the size of these paper coffee cups-looks about the same size as the blue/gray ones on TOS. Not saying these are the same ones but it indicates to me that the TOS cups were most likely paper?

That’s the site that hosts that image. You can tell by the link address. If you want to post images they need to be on an image sharing site like Imgur. Otherwise it’s stealing bandwidth.

It’s all laid out clearly in the rules for posting here, pinned at the top of this and many other forums.

Complaining that I’m being “tough on you” while simultaneously doing what I just asked you not to do rings a bit hollow.

Please just read the board rules and follow them. That’s all you need to do.

Not saying these are the same ones but it indicates to me that the TOS cups were most likely paper?

I think it's pretty well accepted that they were Styrofoam. The raised markings on the bottom are not something you'd see with a paper cup.
