That's a little trolling, isn't it? But I do agree that I am not really keen on the aesthetic for this movie, and the more I see of it the more I'm convinced that this movie is set in the same universe as the Joker. The Joker wasn't even a movie about the Joker; it was a movie about a psychopathic killer and it was a good movie. But it wasn't about the Joker.
That said, I don't think this is the thread to start a Marvel vs. DC debate.

Matt Reeves seems to be taking a literal approach to the adaptation. I was reading where he says he was inspired by Cobain for Batman and the zodiac killer for Riddler so it's no coincidence. Then you have Zoe Kravitz watching lions and cat videos to develop her style...

On the other hand, if they're giving away the possibility that Thomas Wayne was bad in the trailer, that suggests it might turn out to be false. After all, this is supposed to be a detective story, and in detective stories, whatever theory is presented early on is likely to be a red herring.
