The "Alien on the Bridge" is certainly strange looking.
Since They have it wearing gloves anyway, They should have made it appear to have less 'human looking' hands.
Would have been a great way to show that the consoles on the bridge are capable of being adapted to multiple species types.
(I know we mostly already believe this, but it still would have been cool to actually see)

It is! And it has a cool film to television Trek connection, I believe it may be the first species created for the Kelvin films to appear in the new TV era, because that crew member is a Shlerm.
A nice side effect of the re-merging of Viacom and CBS is the free exchange of elements back and forth from big to small screen.

On the starchart, it follows closely what was established in the map from Picard's "Maps and Legends". There are notable changes, with Ni'Var and Alkaali being to the left of Earth, not the right.
The map can be seen at this link. The section we are looking at is AG04-06 to AL04-07.

There doesn't seem to be an image at the other end, as you can right-click on a poxy link and still get to the image most times.
