Junior: Did I SAY you could change the channel?

I gotta ask - is his name actually Henry?Junior: Did I SAY you could change the channel?
Here a feline folly for you:
My cat, Lulu, scratched my sister today. She's never done anything like this, ever. She just puffed up like furry pufferfish and attacked her leg, digging her little claws right in. My husband scooped her up and she got a time out in one of the bedrooms.
I make no excuses for Lulu, but i guess possible contributing factors are that my sister has a dog, a 7lb clueless and loveable Pomeranian that she always brings with her. This stay was from Wednesday to Sunday, much longer than the usual weekend. Plus my husband's father and stepmom visited our home for the first time yesterday, my parents were here for Thanksgiving. It's a lot of people in and out. Finally, my sister was wearing my shoes at the time, which Lulu seemed to fixate on.
Anyone ever had something like this happen with their cat? It's very out of character for Lulu. Maybe she's finally entered into her sulky teenage years.
My cat Mikey would occasionally go nuts and go after me. I usually had to hold him with his chin on the carpet until he calmed down. Here a feline folly for you:

You bring up a very good point here. She's a very active cat and normally we play with her quite a lot to burn off her extra energy. Although we played with her some over the holiday, not as much as we usually do. That pent up predatory energy plus all the other factors must have been too much for her.You had the perfect convergence there of a dog, guests, strangers, and unfamiliar sights and smells - no wonder she went nuts ! Also: teenager - that's when they test the limits on bad behavior...
Both of mine went through mood swings like that - though no scratching, they did team up to bite people - so it was off to solitary confinement until they learned better manners.
Maybe a scratching post to work off some of her energy, or some catnip to mellow her out... ?
Luckily my husband was right there and scooped her right up and put her in our office, where she meowed plaintively. But when he picked her up she squirmed so much she wriggled out of her collar. Bad little worm cat!My cat Mikey would occasionally go nuts and go after me. I usually had to hold him with his chin on the carpet until he calmed down.
I likened it to Leto II having his inner worm come out.
I LOVE OWLKITTY!!
