This is a twist on a game that is played here, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

[Farscape One]

Season 2... while many consider this a boring season, I think it's more accurate to say it's a mixed bag. There are some boring ones, yes, but there are some genuinely good episodes this season. I'll start off with one of the best of the series.

"MINEFIELD" was a great story for Reed, who needed some development. It was also a very tense episode from beginning to end. And a nice way of introducing the Romulans without stepping on any toes of the other shows. I've always loved this one, and it was a great first credit for John Shiban, who came from THE X-FILES after it ended to be a co-executive producer here for this season.

Season 2 is pretty bad isn't it.

I'll save "The Catwalk". If nothing else it's a nice idea, the crew bunking down together is fun in a claustrophobic sort of way, and having a service tunnel in the NX-01 nacelle makes more sense than it does in the Galaxy-class.

[Seven of Five]

Season 2 is a very beige season.

It's definitely an unnecessary episode, but Regeneration is one of the best uses of the Borg since Scorpion. They move about in a much more creepy fashion without a queen, with them casually going about their business.

"DEAD STOP" and "REGENERATION" were actually my next saves, exactly in that order. (The former for the creepy vibe and way it was done, the latter because they actually made the Borg scary again... something I didn't think was possible after the defanging of them by VOYAGER.)

My next save is "SINGULARITY". Like "DEAD STOP", it had a wonderfully creepy vibe throughout. It also had superb visuals.

I'm saving Progenitor - oops, no, Cogenitor. I wonder if auto-correct did that with someone's reply? It's a great dilemma for Trip, and the fate of the poor Cogenitor at the end was so sad. Andreus Katsulus was awesome in the episode as well.

Andreus Katsulus was awesome in the episode as well.

I think he was incapable of putting in a bad performance. He never once phoned it in.

 

[BoTWoT]

Saving DAWN. Might be the most underrated episode across Trek. Might be the best episode of Enterprise. Might be the best Trip episode. Take Darmok, make it less stupid, and you get an episode about communication becoming secondary to survival, and an unspoken bond being formed. It is as quintessential as Star Trek comes. Seeing the galaxy through the eyes of Florida Man is wonderfully fresh perspective across Trek.

I consider this the worst single season of any Star Trek series ever produced.

Still has some winners, though! Which have mostly already been saved.

"Cease Fire" is good. Enterprise never TOTALLY flopped with the Andorians, every outing with them works at least somewhat (except for TATV, I suppose).

I'm saving "Vanishing Point". Not a bad episode by any means. Yes, it's kinda meaningless, as when it ends, you can't help but wonder "all that fuss for what?" but in the meantime, it was fairly entertaining, tense and intriguing with a good sense of mystery. Easily among the highlights of season 2 for me, although, of course, that doesn't mean much considering how low its standards are.

I also don't think "A NIGHT IN SICKBAY" is as bad as everyone says. They were trying something different, and I applaud that. Plus, the line about one paw on beagle heaven is one my wife and I alwsys love.

I'll save "FIRST FLIGHT". It was a nice story, and good bonding time between Archer and T'Pol.

I will save "Horizon", which I liked better than its first season counterpart. It shows yet again why Mayweather, unlike his superiors, was a totally competent spacer. Like Harry and Data, he should have been promoted.

He should have gotten more than this 1 single episode about his character in 4 seasons. When we do see Mayweather, he's usually awesome from start of series to the end, and he gets almost no screen time for a main character. It's the biggest sin on the producers across all of Trek to underuse Anthony Montgomery.
