Spoilers General Prodigy plot-arc speculation thread...

I think Evil Spore Janeway was the second, and we're waiting on the third.

The evil spore Janeway might not have been the second variation.
Could Kate have meant variations of Janeay that would have a more recurrant role?
Aka, one is the training holo Janeway we've seen to date. Second one could be not so easily re-programmed holo-Janeway who has grown in personality, etc. and may even have command capabilties (who also knows what the real score with the kids is considering her access to internal sensors which record... everything - although, holo Janeway wasn't technically reprogrammed by Gwyn... she merely gained full command access - so this could still be the first version - in which case, the second one we could be waiting on yet), and third - Real Admiral Janeway.

Don't know if off the hand alien reproduction counts.

‪‪A lot of folks have observed that the timeline right now doesn’t make the most sense since the show is reportedly set in 2383, but with Gwyn being a teenager who says she’s never seen the stars, it’s implied that she’d been on Tars Lamora her entire life. Combined with Drednok making it clear the Diviner’s mission brought them to Tars Lamora in order to find the Protostar specifically to begin with, and Gwyn making it just as clear that the Diviner trained her explicitly to run the Protostar, the timeline feels inherently wonky.

‪‪I know there’s a popular theory that the timeline isn’t actually set in 2383, and it’s a fake out, but ‪‪I’m more inclined to think there’s something else to it, most likely involving time travel (possibly an unintentional side effect of using its mysterious experimental additional drive/engine?).

‪‪I’m not dismissing the theory that they’re in a different era out right, ‪‪I get where many are coming from with it, but ‪‪I think that line of thinking requires applying the style of promotion for things like Into Darkness, or Picard and Discovery, to a lesser extent, to a children’s show.

Yes, the Hageman’s are aware that the adult fanbase is watching, for sure, but they’ve made it clear their primary targeted audience for Prodigy is made up of kids. ‪‪I think it’s counterintuitive to promote something that only ends up being a fakeout to this show’s intended audience, it seems unnecessarily confusing for the desired new kid viewers with no obvious benefit.

‪‪They keep mentioning the setting, beyond press releases and official information released about the series, in interviews, and have said it will come into play.

From a Den of Geek interview following the premiere:

“We know we are right around Picard. We’ve been talking with their showrunners about what they’re doing. Making sure it all works together. There are events in Picard that will drastically affect our young characters.”

It just feels weird to me to think that they’re playing so long game so they can say “see, it’s not what we said it was!”

If it were a J.J. Abrams animated series, ‪‪I wouldn’t doubt it, but all things considered, I’m eagerly waiting for the Diviner and Protostar’s backstory to be explained, but ‪‪I’m taking the creators’ statements about the show’s time and setting at face value for the time being.

Doesn't the comment about events in Picard which will affect the young characters show the show isn't set in 2283?

I mean, Picard starts in 2399, not 2283. The earliest event within Picard's timeline is the attack on Utopia Planetia, which is still 2385 - two years after the start of Prodigy.

Maybe they're plotting things out for Season 3 already?
