Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

"When you go to a book burning, do you have to use a different Kindle for each book or can you just burn one Kindle?" hehe. I am asking for a friend?

Just make sure you remove the batteries first :).

I saw a couple posts about it online, one was Wil Wheaton talking about this Daily Beast post on his Instagram. Oh, and I forgot the second half of it, once they didn't show up earlier today, they said that the Kennedys and a whole bunch of other dead other celebrities are supposed to show up a Rolling Stones concert tonight.
Why the Rolling Stones? I don't see the connection. The Stones aren't dead, just old! (Well, Charlie Watts died last August, but I don't think his ghost will be playing drums.)

I was finally able to get back out on my bike today for the first time since I wiped out. I healed pretty quick, but my bike had to go in to get repaired and that took a couple weeks.
I haven't seen anything from them about needing help. I did try look for ranch/farm jobs in general recently, on the job sites, and one that specializes just in farm/ranch jobs, but nothing came up near me.

The smell doesn't bother me, and it still sounds better than dealing with people.
Well, I actually saw a post for a farm rescue looking for help, :)and it pays pretty good, but....... it's only for 2 hours a day, and I need a lot more than that :censored:.

I think I might have finally figured out the culprit behind my mysterious sound I kept hearing a few months back. I went on another bike ride, just for fun, not trying to figure out the sound, and I noticed what looked like a donkey in the backyard of one of the houses in the first stretch right across the street from my neighborhood. I couldn't get a real clear look, because it was pretty far away, but it was shorter than a horse and had big long ears, so I'm pretty sure it was a donkey or maybe a mule. I love how you always manage to answer a question like this after you've given up trying to find the answer.

Yep, it was a mule.
The sound this guy makes about half way through the video is the closest sound I have managed to find to what I was hearing.

They already could and they choose not to.

Provide food, yes. Get it past the corrupt government officials, warlords, and terrorists who would take it for themselves... we tried that in Somalia, about 30 years ago. Didn't go well.

Quote of the day: "Laughter is the best medicine... unless you have diarrhea."

Squid Game: TV show about a game where 455* poor people are killed for losing at children's games so rich people can have fun betting on them.

The internet's reaction: Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we did that only without the death?

*
Technically only 441 of them died cause 14 of them did not come back after the vote.

^ I'm not exactly a huge fan of Starbucks although I do like their cold frappucinos.

Regarding coffee in general, though, I vastly prefer Tim Hortons. (They also have better food.) Unfortunately we don't have a lot of Tims down here in the states. :(

Small addendum, I again miscounted the number of people who died in the games by one for very spoilery reasons.

It is depressing to watch but also has a kind of dark absurdist humor to balance out the tone.

I've seen stories on bumfighting so I know it's a thing, but is it that widespread?

I'm not a fan of Starbucks coffee. It's fine if it's the only place open or my only alternatives are gas station coffee. But I always add their chocolate and vanilla powder. If there's a small local place I'll go there, if there's only chains I prefer Dunkin Donuts or McDonalds.

Stupid meaningless thing to be annoyed by, but holy crap sometimes viewers of TV shows make up the most idiotic and nonsensical things in guessing where a plot is going that not even Scott Buck would use them on his shows.

Went onto Reddit to look up the last episode of The Rookie, and there are some major mental gymnastics going on there to try to make a character who obviously isn't a killer into one. These sort of things are worse for shows like The Blacklist, when the viewers don't make any sense trying to make sense out of a show that makes no sense.
