There's a certain irony here now, since McG is playing Scotty in Trek 11. We now have Trip and Scotty starring in SGA...

I wish McG was playing Scotty.

Unfortunately, Abrams has cast some bloke named Simon Pegg as Scotty. Paul has a minor role, which hasn't been revealed yet.

It's too bad, McG would've been perfect.

Oh, I thought it was Scotty. Pegg, bleh, can't stand the guy.

He actually looks like him. Maybe the Pegg thing is a swerve to throw us off the scent and he will be Scotty.

I saw him in a preview for a DVD, I just can't see this guy as Scotty.

Quinto as Spock... Yeah.

Pine as Kirk... Yeah.

Urban as McCoy... A bit of a stretch, but yeah, he's a good actor.

Pegg... It ain't workin' for me.

If they let Abrams use the extra time to make a better movie, great. I can accept that, expecially if the FX team gets a longer period to perfect their stuff.

But if Paramount forces J.J. to stick to the current schedule and they then sit on a finished film for five months... That's just nuts.
