"THE SWARM", because it contains a nice performance by Picardo. It's always a pleasure to see him act even in bad episodes.

My final save for this season (yes, I feel that way about the rest) is "RISE". While not a really good episode, it does pair Tuvok and Neelix well here. They were always fun to watch.

Saving Coda. Perhaps not the strongest episode ever, but it _is_ one of those 'what the hell is going on?' episodes with a classic feel, an episode type which I happen to mostly like, showing Janeway's dogged determination to get to the bottom of it all.
Also, an episode that has Captain Janeway dying not just once, but several times over, and have her finally scolding at 'the devil' he is a coward, can't be the worst of the season, right?

Alter Ego has good scenes between Tuvok and the guest lady, so I remember it as slightly better than the others.

Between those two I am absolutely rescuing "The Q and the Grey". It's got Q in for pity's sake! For shame letting it get this far! *wags finger*

And we have a season 3 winner with, unsurprisingly, "FAVORITE SON". It rightly wins. In fact, except for the first iteration of this game in 2011, "FAVORITE SON" has won EVERY season 3 game.

An episode where all the girls were for Harry? Even Harry himself should have realised immediately that couldn't be right ....
"Favorite Song" is a deserved winner (or is it loser?). It has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, plus it's boring as hell!

Favorite Son deserved to lose. Not because it was bad, I thought it was a pretty good episode (but then, Q and the Gray and Coda are personal favorites). It deserved to lose because it was the opportunity to perform "Nog joins Starfleet" level direction change on Harry's character, who was meandering toward irrelevance. Instead, some schmuck in a suit vetoed the change and insisted that Harry remain human. And we all saw what happened, didn't we? 
Had Harry gotten a promotion, his character would have gone from ridiculous to meh. Having him turn out of be an alien, with new abilities and hidden genetic memories and who knows what else might have done far more for him than a few cubic millimeters of metal on his collar.

I think the first problem with Harry is that he's played by a mediocre actor.
"Flashback" retcons Tuvok into a partial rewrite of Star Trek VI and some of the acting seems to be done in their sleep, and Janeway wasn't there at the time of Sulu and Kirk either, but it is rather nice to see the Excelsior cast again and there's enough nice newly added material for all around (even with giving Tuvok's mind a rewind button function...)
'The Q and the Gray" started out as being jovial silliness worthy of an episode of "Three's Company" and a part of me still giggles at it. But once they make the Q continuum "accessible for the viewer" with the civil war allusion, and it gets boring really quick. (Then again, this also leads to Q2, which has its moments... either way, I find it impossible to truly dislike a Q episode, even despite their demystifying it for one last taste of fresh, delicious twist o' turnip squeezin's. )
"Future's End" features a too-contrived setup that's true barrel scrapings given how the ship is in Delta quadrant and now they're on Earth so easy-peazy, but Sarah Silverman is rather decent as a serious dramatic actor. Plus, the double-acts formed (Tom/Tuvok being the best) to interact with "our time" is rather fun. But how they got there and back is shark-jumping territory. That said, it's hard to dislike this one too, there's more in its favor so I roll with the plot convenience...

The actors playing humans were told to "dial it down" and play relatively wooden characters. One of the many mistakes made by the showrunners.
I liked many things about Favorite Son as well. The initial mystery, the "planet of hot women" vibe, Kristina "Terminatrix" Lokken... but it and "Real Life" are alike in a sad way. They could have been the start of major development arcs for two characters... but weren't.
The Doctor, admittedly, was well developed in other episodes. But after all he went through in that one, it seems wrong that his holo-family just went the way of Sandrine's and Janeway's gothic ghost novel.
