The Most Disliked Episode of VGR, Season 2: 2021 Edition...

At this point I am saving "BASICS, PART I" not a bad ending to the season.

ELOGIUM
NON SEQUITUR
PARTURITION
TATTOO
ALLIANCES
THRESHOLD
INNOCENCE

Well, I've been ninja'ed, so my last saving doesn't count.

So this time it's "THRESHOLD", under the "it's so bad, it's good " rule. I mean it's so absurd through and through that it's like a modern art piece, you don't know what it means but it makes you think or like the dream of someone on LSD or something...

ELOGIUM
NON SEQUITUR
PARTURITION
TATTOO
ALLIANCES
INNOCENCE

I just dashed over thinking I had to save "Basics", but it's been twice saved already! Love "Basics."

So instead... "Elogium" I suppose. It goes wrong in MANY ways, however I give it an A for effort. It dealt with some interesting questions the entire rest of the series doggedly avoided.

NON SEQUITUR
PARTURITION
TATTOO
ALLIANCES
INNOCENCE

What I don't get is that in Elogium, Kes is downright repulsive, in many ways, even her demeanor... You'd think that the one time when the female Ocompa absolutely has to be attractive to the male... she'd be... well... at least not repulsive.:D

Alliances is my next save. It's quite good for the first 40 minutes, seeing Janeway having to tackle the Kazon situation in a different way. If only they hadn't been so scared of making changes, as in the last five minutes, Janeway just comes across as naive by reverting back to Starfleet ways.

NON SEQUITUR
PARTURITION
TATTOO
INNOCENCE

Saving Non Sequitur. I've never had any idea why people don't like this one. Personally, it's one of my top 20 of Voyager. The only thing that makes it bad, is why in the actual f' would Harry see the It's a Wonderful life routine and then choose to return to Voyager. His choice to continue suffering in the Delta Quadrant.

PARTURITION
TATTOO
INNOCENCE

I was going to save "ALLIANCES" because I really thought this was something we should have seen them do more often... "THRESHOLD" because it was a horror story, plus some Tom character development... "BASICS, PART I" because despite the crew looking like idiots for getting duped like that, it was a well done trap.

So my final save for season 2 is "INNOCENCE". It was nice seeing a Tuvok episode where something isn't wrong with him, plus we can see why he is a good father in how he deals with these kids. The idea of a species that ages in reverse is an interesting one, and I wish we got to learn more about that.

PARTURITION
TATTOO

That's a pretty big issue, unfortunately.

I’ll save Partruition, for not being Tattoo. Native American heritage written by a person with no clue about it.

I would have saved Non Sequitur next after Basics. I agree it’s a good episode though it should have been a much more difficult decision for Harry to sacrifice being home with his girlfriend and family out of a feeling of concern for the guy who replaced him and a sense of responsibility to protect his crewmates.

"TATTOO" is the winner of this season.

I will start season 3 later today. Thank you all for playing... this season went by quick!

Very quick .... I was looking forward to it but sometimes you have these annoying interfering activities such as 'work', and when I came home, it was already done :(

The Ocampan males probably find it attractive.

I have bigger questions about how the Ocampan population doesn’t divide in half every generation.

If I were to go by airdate, my pick for worst would actually be "TWISTED" or "PARTURITION". While the former was a great concept, the execution was appaling... plus very boring, something I wouldn't expect from Kim Friedman, who seems to be a kinetic director, for lack of a better term. (She directed "THE WIRE", which on paper could have been very boring, but it was one of the best of early DS9.) Truthfully, Winrich Kolbe could have done better... a great example of a bottle show done very well is his FIRST episode of the franchise, "Where Silence Has Lease".

"PARTURITION" just really made Neelix and Tom look bad. But it did at least end the jealousy streak with Neelix.

If I were to go by production order, without a doubt "FALSE PROFITS" is the worst of season 2.

"FALSE PROFITS" is a season 3 episode.

My worst episode of VOY season 2 is probably "Tattoo", so this makes a fitting winner for me.

"Non Sequitur" is also much loathed by me. I just don't think Garrett's performance has reached the point where he can sustain this much episode focus. Also, the laziness of the ultimate reveal from the cafe owner - "I'm secretly an alien here with an info dump..."

I like it production-wise, though. Their representation of Earth is fun.

"FALSE PROFITS" is a season 3 episode.

Airdate order, yes it is season 3. But it was produced for season 2. It was 1 of 4 holdovers for season 3 so UPN can jump start earlier than the other networks for the new season. (The episodes being "SACRED GROUBD", "FALSE PROFITS", "FLASHBACK", and "BASICS, PART II".) I tend to go by production order, particularly in VGR's case as those holdovers really score the season in an overall different way.

The third season only produced 22 episodes. This is ultimately why VGR has an overall episode count lower than DS9... 4, to be exact.
