I like ST’09, but it gets replayed on tv so often that I'm tired of it and for that, its fallen out of my top three.

Unlike with the TV shows, my top three Star Trek films are firmly cemented into place.

My top 3 are:

3.....Star Trek: First Contact
2.....Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan'
and in 1st place, drum roll......Star Trek: The Motion Picture. That movie made me into a Trekkie.

My bottom two are always Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. My other films beyond that can fluctuate a bit. They're not always in the same place.

As I said in a recent thread on top three series, this fluctuates with me, and there's a difference between what I think are necessarily the *best* movies, and what are the ones I *enjoy* the most and watch the most.

While I think TWOK and TUC are probably the best movies in terms of story and craft (with TUC nudging ahead for writing and TWOK nudging ahead for performances), the movies that I turn to the most for a good watch are:

TSFS
Beyond

I suspect TWOK may creep back into this list, but I've honestly watched it so many times, I think I need to let it rest a bit.

I enjoyed ST'09 when it came out as well (despite it's flaws) because certain things about ST'09 were so clever and well done. However, the sequels (which I think were terrible) have accented some of those flaws, so now when I watch ST'09 the flaws are too significant for me to overlook.

I had to think about the third, though. After much dithering, Nemesis beats The Motion Picture and Generations. For now, anyway...

No doubt...but you can say that about a great many Trek films
