Voyager had no need on it's mission.
Good point. But in this case, why wasn't there a mention of Cetacean Ops in "Disaster", "Starship Mine", "Masks" or "Genesis" for example?
Neelix would never stoop so low!
He'd never use oranges as long as he still had some leola root.
Also...where would they have been during Caretaker? Can't exactly have them lie around in that reproduction of "rural America"
Maybe Cetacean Ops was eliminated in the fourth or fifth year as a cost-cutting measure.
Agreed. The space available on a Galaxy class is ridiculous and over the top. Referencing every single department would probably take half of a captain's morning reports.Again, I'd argue the Enterprise-D is too big to always have all the parts of the ship referenced. For all we know disaster just shook their tank a bit and the Cataceans kept swimming around, maybe in darkness.
I wonder if they realized they could and should communicate with Cetaceans at some point after the Whale Probe incident?
MammalsMaybe Neelix saw them and said, "the captain won't mind if I serve the crew some nice fresh fish steaks in orange sauce."
And that was it for cetacean ops...![]()
He's a chef. I would hope so.I know they're mammals. But did Neelix?
