Ironically I really like the Ferengi

The problem with the Ferengi is they come off more like Goblins than capitalist critiques.

Not even WOW Goblins.

Where are the massive megacorporations that leave planets environmentally dead and yet pleading for more exploitation?
No need to do that when there are lifeless asteroids. Development of industry happens on one’s own planet sadly. A better alternative to the Prime Directive is not to wait until a civ’ goes to warp after making a mess….reveal yourself before they start mining.

Okay….here is a replicator…birth control…antigravity…those asteroids? Mine that…be safe..,don’t drill mine or clear cut…you don’t have to do that anymore.

Force fields…but no firearms…and they never know about radioactive elements…just fusion.

The Ferengi notably said that the Prime Directive was evil and not selling tech to primitive peoples is one of the things they do in "The Last Outpost."
