well, to me that’s REALLY far from pornography. I can say it’s something I’d like to unsee perhaps, but definitely not something that gets me excited in that way.
if only what excites me personally counts as pornography, there'd be a lot less of it in the world ;)
there's a lot of real porn that I'd like to unsee XD

The only time the Borg have truly been scary since FC was in "Regeneration(ENT)."
true, that was a surprisingly good episode
It was good at first, that whole The Thing atmosphere, but then it got really bad when they defeated 24th century Borg with 22nd century phase weapons, and fired more shots before they adapted than any 24th century weapon could fire :ack:

Being frozen for a century and being a smaller group cut off from the processing power of the larger collective can be used to explain many things.

And let's not forget that fully intact Borg drones connected to the Queen herself were cut down by holographic bullets in FC. So even holographic threats couldn't be counteracted by drones adapting their personal shields.

Yes, the Borg shields can protect against any 24th century-plus weapon but they are helpless against 20th-century bullets or the age-old blunt force trauma. That's why the Borg never assimilated cavemen and their clubs, not because they don't want to but because they can't.:D

They would have if they tried bullets more than once. The Borg always go down easy once or twice until they adapt. That's always been the case.

The Borg don't care about losing a few drones, they care about gathering information to improve themselves.

which has always been really stupid. I mean, why wouldn’t the force field block a generic energy weapon or literal projectile, especially during what was already a hostile situation?

Not to mention that the borg shields seem to work the exact opposite way other force fields do in Star Trek: usually you have to modulate a beam (or torpedo…somehow!) at a precise frequency to get trough, the borg personal shields don’t protect from anything they are already prepared to protect from for some reason.

Were this the Golden Era of Star Trek toys in the '90s with Playmates we'd probably get a whole lot of LD figures including a Baby Borg set. I am glad that Trek toys and collectables are seeing something of a resurgence with the Mego figures and the model ships from the different shows and movies.

You heard that Playmates Star Trek toys were coming back?

Well, it depends. Not everything Trek merchandise has sold well. There's even a new interactive Tribble for sale now but how well is that going to sell?

Some Star Wars merchandise is the same way. Grogu merchandise and legendary pegwarmers from the Sequels were vastly overproduced and even the mighty Star Wars license has had its ebbs and drops.

Well, Hasbro has been famously mismanaging the brand too, which hasn't helped confidence in the available products and then sales reflect poorly. Grogu I see selling fairly well, depending.

They really screwed up on some products. The 2012 TPM 3-D avalanche of merchandise helped contaminate the market for the next several years and changed how Hasbro makes and markets their figures. It was a true belly flop except for the most desirable products.

Well, the weird splitting of the black series and vintage collection did even more damage.

Also, Playmates news here

The Borg don't care about protecting their drones. They do care about studying their prey, immensely, to see how and if it can add to their perfection. They use poor or no force fields, at first, purely to gauge what they are up against. These guys have holo-bullets? Neat! Modulating phaser frequencies? How cute! This guy's just chopping off heads? Eh... go shut him up.

I do wonder if part of the hive mind is a matter of being able to process information faster, thus allowing for more adaptive power. Basically exponentially increasing their ability to analyze the attack and adjust. So, one or two drones is a none issue because new information is immediately added.

Which is why I have little issue with the drones in "Regeneration" on ENT. Less processing power, meaning less resources to adjust to incoming fire.

which seems really inefficient. Why lose 10 drones to assimilate one person, especially when no good at all comes from having drones not deflect a bullet or anything but specific energy frequencies?
