Well, I've seen some Micro Machine and Johnny Lightning models on eBay go for a lot more than the initial retail price, but yeah, buying collectibles on the hope that it will someday go up in value is probably not the best investment.

Eaglemoss did give us a wonderful Enterprise-D, though.

Stupid me signed up for Franklin mint ships thinking they might be the last ship replicas made.

I hope they make Ori ships as XLs…all metal!

It's always a risk to collect something thinking it will go up in value. I used to work with a woman who was convinced that owning a ton of NASCAR models would one day put her kids through college. I'm sure they're worth nothing now.
As a kid I sunk a ton of money into baseball cards. I still have a small box of the ones that are worth something, maybe a couple hundred dollars now, but I'd have to find someone who would actually pay for them, but I probably spent thousands over the course of 15 years or so.

It's doubtful since SG1 has been off the air for a long time. Now an animatronic Adria in the front entry way of the house would be an interesting conversation piece for when guests arrive.

"Why do you have a robot replica that looks like a famous space prostitute at your front door?"

I bet it would sell well with certain demographics.

It counts as ALIEN collection bonus #1. I'm not sure whether it is the same size as the original, limited Nostromo model, or the new XL version?

Narek's Snake Head is now available in the EU and the US.
I just noticed that in the shop pictures the cockpit side windows aren't printed. I hope they've fixed that...

Is Eagle Moss the only company that releases StarShip models?

Are there any other companies that release Good Star Trek StarShip models?

“Good” is a relative term. Art Asylum did some pretty decent models, which were more like toys (lights, sound effects), but the paint jobs weren’t all that exceptional. Franklin Mint did a few but they were pewter with gold plate details. Meh... Johnny Lightning did a bunch, as did Hot Wheels. They all had their pluses and minuses. You can find them all on eBay in various conditions to give you an idea of what they look like.

Which company makes the highest quality models IYO?

I'm not that impressed with Eagle Moss after buying 4 of their ships, I bought the:
    Enterprise-D
    Akira-Class
    Enterprise-J
    Vesta-Class

    All Non-XL small size models.

The Paint for windows seems to be consistently off by a bit.
Why bother indenting for windows if your paint is going to be off by a few millimeters.

There are like $5,000 models you can buy. Those would be the highest quality.

Heh... yeah, there’s the Anovos models that are super-detailed and highly accurate. But, yeah, thousands of dollars and Anovos is dead now, so the prices of those things, if you can even find them, will be astronomical. QMx is another source for high-end large-scale ship replicas, but they’re also super-hard to find these days.

I’ve always been pretty happy with the Art Asylum ships. They’re fairly accurate, a good size (comparable to the EM XL lines) and sturdy.

The Anovos models previewed back in the day cost between $8000-$20K. They were meant to be made on order, with a 2 year production period per model. Given how the company turned out to be a scam, I doubt any got ever made besides the showcase models.

Good point! I wasn’t aware that they were made individually on order. I honestly never bothered to even research the details on them after seeing the price tags. So, yeah, the display models probably are the only ones in existence. They were beautifully done, though.

My impression was that Anovos was just brokering the QMX models, similar to how they also offered some Eaglemoss models on their store. That doesn't explain the newer ships Anovos offered that QMX didn't, but I'd assumed it was always the same modelmaking company on the back end no matter which website was selling them.

I prefer the Toussaint - the proportions look more balanced.

I'd like to see the Toussaint next to some XL models. I don't usually buy special-sized Federation ships, but with the longer nacelles.it might look large enough to fit in with the XL ones.
