TSCC is as legitimate a sequel to T2 as anything you arbitrarily decided to include, and remains my pick.
Arbitrarily? Ha Ha. Unfortunately, the film sequels are canon and not arbitrary.

The television show is not a film sequel, and it is too easy to avoid the pain of having to pick among the actual film sequels by picking the television show.

You're ignoring TSCC for literally no reason, which is the definition of the word 'arbitrary.

Choosing TSSC isn't 'avoiding a hard choice'; it's acknowledging the show's place in the franchise and is legitimate a choice as any of the films you arbitrarily decided to count as more legitimate than it.

We're overthinking. Just pick the MOVIE you like or don't like, and feel free to say that SCC whomped them all if you think so. And remember that T1 and T2 were also excluded, so this isn't about Terminator canon.

Terminator: Dark Fate is my favorite because it answers a question that I asked when I saw the first Terminator movie. "What would the Terminator do if he completed his mission?" My response was that he would just stay there completely immobile or self-destruct after all his 120 years lasting power cell must contain lots of energy, enough maybe to destroy a whole city.

I stopped following it after 3, but I didn't think 3 was that bad. It undid 2, which was not nice but in terms of a movie I was entertained.

DF Spoilers ahead...

I think it's no great surprise that the best parts of that movie are the parts that continue from T2. The idea that a robot built to infiltrate and destroy humans can learn to value human life. In T2, it dies defending it, and destroying the very nightmare that created it. In T: DF, this goes further. A Terminator comes to regret its actions. Further, it possibly even crosses the line between merely infiltrating into human society and actually living a human life.

Completely false. I stated the reason.

So be it. Enjoy your non-choice. lol
