Hawkeye on Disney+ anticipation thread

Is it just me, or did they intentionally cut around showing Hawkeyes wife's face in that trailer? Did Linda Cardellini not come back for this? I mean, I wouldn't blame her, it's a nothing role.
I was wondering the same thing. I really hope that Linda Cardellini does return because she's pure joy in everything she does.

Looked fun. I was hoping for fun from Loki and instead got world ending chaos and multiple apocalypses with only short bits of mischief. Maybe this will scratch that itch. Really been looking for more fun programming these days.
You know I don't really know what I expected from a Hawkeye show, but it certainly wasn't this...and I'm into it!
Are we sure Shane Black didn't have anything to do with this one, because it looks right up his alley?
I'm feeling the same way! I thought I knew what we were getting but I was completely wrong and I'm thrilled to be wrong!

I, for one, am not looking forward to
the possibility of Yelena hunting down Clint out of mad, blind vengeance based on the misunderstanding that he was responsible for Natasha's death. I hate that kind of 'misunderstanding' stuff, and I hope it's resolved within the first five minutes of the first episode.
I was actually surprised we didn't even get a hint about Yelena's vendetta against Clint, not even in the tag. I guess they're saving that for the next trailer and waiting as long as possible to allow people to watch Black Widow before revealing her role in this show.

I'm not a fan of that of misunderstandings either, but I don't mind it quite as much because in this case it wasn't a simple case of Yelena misunderstanding what really happened but rather the Countess deliberately misleading her. I imagine that particular bit will be part of the larger story.

"There are more dangerous arrows than THAT???"

:whistle::whistle:

Me: :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

That trailer was awesome. I love dramatic and world/universe changing events but sometimes superheroes should just be fun and this trailer has shown that Hawkeye will be fun.

I'm sure it will also have serious and dramatic moments, especially when one character shows up for revenge ( and hopefully gets set straight fast) but i would love to see some goofy jokes and stunts.

Well you know revenge character and Kate are gonna end up teaming up, of not in this then in whatever comes next. And I bet Newton's character from Ant Man will join them too.

"Oh don't worry, Clint. I know that Val is full of чушь собачья when it suits her. It gave me an excuse to see how you're doing anyway. And what is with this 'tracksuit mafiya' gang?"

You know.. it might just be that. The MCU is known for throwing curve balls and it would be awesome if something like this happened, especially because revenge character is so damn awesome :lol:

According to IMDB and Wiki, Linda Cardellini does not seem to appear officially, which is "expletive". But I guess, the children will appear not in every episode either and are just one of the framing devices.

And according to the quote tool, you are member 149, thus you must have known dawoim and LizardLaugh and all those pastards.

And I am member 9400, as it seems. I guess past members, who are not active anymore, got deleted, as I cannot find my past alias "malanga", except on "oocities".

Well, neither of them are hardly conclusive (especially IMDb since they don't provide sources and are often wrong about upcoming productions), but the lack of press saying that she is part of the series is more damning.

Well, not originally. I was member 1480 or 1940 or something like that before there was a big purge in membership (back in the days when the board needed to do that kind of thing).

But, yes, I remember da woim and LizardLaugh! I wouldn't say I knew them, but I certainly interacted with them from time to time. I can't remember if da woim was still a moderator during my tenure but I think he already stepped down by that point.

Like I said, that use to be the case but that hasn't been necessary for many years. Same for past threads. That did stop happening somewhere around 2008, so you must've been inactive for quite some time before returning. For what it's worth, the name Malanga does sound familiar. I use to go by Emh until just a few years ago (but still the same avatar!).

Pretty sure as they are obviously slowly setting up a new Avengers Team and some new team members will fill in the same roles as the first Avengers Team ( this is of course still years away, Kevin Feige is dodging every interview question currently when asked about new Avengers).

I hope this will be a good sendoff for Jeremy Renner, i really liked the grounded aspect ( for a superhero) of his Hawkeye and his deadpan humor. He also has one of my all time favorite scenes in the entire MCU in Age of Ultron, when he gives Wanda a pep talk in the middle of a giant battle " I have a bow and arrow, none of this makes sense. But when you step through that door you are an Avenger!" ( paraphrased)

He’s an archer. They’re always dark. :)
I just thought it would deal with his time being Ronin and the fallout. We get some of that in the trailer. I just thought it would be more serious

I just never go into a MCU project expecting a dark tone at this point.

But yeah hopefully it captures the feel of the excellet Matt Fraction run it's inspired by.

Read the Matt Fraction series it's mostly based on. It's very funny. (But also serious when it needs to be.)
I think I have read some of that. It was Kay but it’s not what I really want in a comic book story. I prefer the more sci fi/fantastical stories

I loved that part where someone chucks a Molotov Cocktail at Clint...he catches it and chucks it right back at them!

Even better is that he sees it coming, breaks the glass window so the bottle can fly through and he is able to catch and return it to the people below.

Now that is some serious skill, observation and coordination all the while being on the phone.
