Spoilers Season 2 Trailers, Previews, and Promos

The whole world war 3 thing sounds like bullshit that the writers put in

I'm still suspicious about how Earth managed to recover so quickly.

I mean, a global nuclear war in 2053 (as per ST:FC)...and a hundred years later, it's like nothing ever happened?

They MUST have had help. Probably from the Vulcans.

Yeah that's why I always think of the WW3 thing as writers bullshit. Unless the Vulcans helped rebuild stuff after the events of the official first contact via the Vulcans, I mean Earth looks amazing in Enterprise, no signs of any past global conflict.

Vulcans had a lot of practice after their own nuclear war.
How much time was ever spent on Earth, though? How much did we see? A few cities, a national park and?

Just before the explosion that killed Admiral Forrest, Soval confessed that one of the reasons that Vulcan had held back technology, one of the things that always stuck in Archer's craw, was because they fear that Humanity was advancing too far too quickly, without having learned the lessons of the past. Soval commented that it took of Vulcan millennia to recover after their nuclear wars, and yet humanity had managed to do so in a fraction of the time.

I think I just assumed the Vulcans did help rebuild Earth extensively without ever analyzing that. I think that also was a major reason that Archer ticked me off. In the back of my head, I was thinking, "You are just an ungrateful pile of crap." I don't think this was ever intended by the way the Vulcans were just jerks for the sake of jerks in that show.

Alternate timelines/universes wear out this old man's brain. When I saw that picture, I thought, huh What, did I miss something? When did Bajor join the Federation? Since Q is involved, it makes a little more sense. Cannot wait for season 2!

the rest of the screen is Picard style LCARS.

I have no idea how you reached that conclusion. There's hardly anything visible as an LCARS that I can see. To be honest, it looks more like the Kelvin or the Enterprise (Disco / SNW) than anything from the TNG era. The pseudo analogue "slidebar" display look on the top of each console is very TOS -- which of course wouldn't look like the Stargazer either, unless that's the look being adopted for "old" ships.

The map of the Alpha Quadrant seen in Admiral Clancy's office in season 1 show's Bajor within Federation borders. So is Cardassia for that matter.

Wow, I missed that! I can believe Bajor, but Cardassia? There will have to be a "backstory" to make me believe that one. I know the Founders did some major population damage to them in the end, but they had been getting pounded by the Federation, Romulans as well as the Klingons. Maybe a decimated Cardassia needed help rebuilding and saw the light? That was one wide open ending at the end of DS9 that I've never filled. I'll have to go look at that map when I get home tonight...
