Spoilers Season 2 Trailers, Previews, and Promos

I remember way back when the first episode aired. the opening scene with Picard and Data playing poker, Data's winning hand was all Queens had people speculating that symbolized either Q or the Borg Queen would be significant in the first season.

Yes, I remember we were all saying that. Imean, it's really pretty obvious. Q = Q, Queen = Borg Queen.... Unless part of Season 2's time travel will have Picard teaming up with Freddie Mercury.

Seems that sooner or later New Trek does something to piss off more old hang-er-on-er's.

Old Fans: "I love New Trek! I just don't want them to do Borg again and I'll be happy."

Breaking News: Borg are Back!

Old Fans: ""

 You've suffered enough. Perhaps just walk away now.

I'm an old fan and I have no problem with them revisiting the Borg. The Borg as presented in the first season of Picard was sufficiently different from previous depictions that I saw it as continuation rather than rehash. I will not judge the return of the Borg Queen because I have not seen it yet. If they bring something new to the character, then I am all for it.

I mean, I was already there with Q, time travel, etc.

If you're looking for new characters, stories, and adventures, please visit the fora for ST: Discovery, Prodigy, LD, and SNW. Picard is -- and was always going to be -- a waltz down memory lane of everything that made JLP who he is. At the top of this list are Q and the Borg. Why did you expect anything else?

I, for one, welcome the waltz down memory lane.

Because Season 1 was actually interesting. Silly me for expecting something different...

Also, if I want to waltz down memory lane I have episodes, like "All Good Things" where TNG type Trek was at its best. If I'm starved for nostalgia that's where I will go.

Season 1 was interesting, agreed. Why do you think Season 2 won't be? How can it not be when Q is involved?

I've seen every episode of TNG at least 20 times over, if not more. They're fun to rewatch, but why wouldn't one want new adventures with old friends while we can still get them? Sir Pat won't be around forever.

Going in to the past does not sound new, at least to me. But, as Old Mixer noted, I am willing to give it a shot because Season 1 set up Picard in a far more interesting direction than TNG or the films did. I think there is potential there but I don't anticipate it being new. Again, as you say, waltzing down memory is preferable for some.

So, what would your ideal Season 2 be like? I'm genuinely curious, because quite frankly I don't understand.

So what happens to all the stuff we left hanging in season one?
Do they even pick up with the synths, the mega tentacle overlords or anything like that in season 2?

Well could be worse we meet the Borg Queen and she says "Jean Luc hey no hard feelings I was kidding all along me and Q are best buddies and I have mended my ways"

Just follow through. They set up an interesting part of the world, and potentially leave it behind. Have consequences, more Romulans, etc. This isn't hard, at least to me. Q is safe, familiar. It's not why I enjoyed Season 1.

Depends on if the plot of season 2 is set in the "real timeline" or everything has been altered by Q.

"Starfleet is now evil, Jean Luc because they didn't ban Synths or Romulus!"

Just saw the new Star Trek day trailer and I have to say I'm not feeling it, sorry. Too much vibes of
The Voyage Home
