What’s the likelihood a Delta Quadrant version of the Federation formed post-“Endgame”?

With the amount of species Voyager encountered in the Delta Quadrant, Voyager spreading knowledge of the Federation, and with the influence of the Borg no longer a sure thing, how likely is it that a Federation forms in the Delta Quadrant among those species?

Granted, the entire Delta Quadrant was not explored during Voyager’s travels, and there might already be one in existence that no one knows about. But among the species seen on screen, how likely is such an organization forms?

Limited. Voyager didn't leave anyone behind, except Neelix, on an isolated colony.

It might have been cool if a character had chosen to stay behind, on a world that had the right technology and mentality, and aid in the building of the Federation (Delta Quadrant). Maybe one of the characters they didn't know what else to do with, like Chakotay or Harry.

There was a Delta alliance of sorts in the novels and Star Trek online.

Maybe influenced by long distance travelers from elsewhere. The Dominion? Klingons? Ferengi? We did see the latter two in the Delta Quadrant after all.

That is something I would have liked to see.

The first half of season 2 (an otherwise excellent season) should have been about Voyager staying around helping the people on The 37.s planet to create a federation in the area and all episodes in season 2 and 3 with the Kazon should have been in that timespace.

The other season 2 episodes should have occurred after this Kazon arc.

I don't think there's a high probability of there being a "delta Quadrant Federation". The best chances of success probably would be those 37's - but that might be for the long run as we don't even know they had developed space flight yet, and perhaps that temporary alliance in the Void- but since they were just stray ships from different species they'd probably amount to little more than tell an inspiring story when they returned home. Neither do I think any Neelix effort would amount to much - what local species would take an 'ambassador' of an entity 30,000 + LY away, sitting on a small rocky mining outpost seriously?

Other than that, the only real DQ wide ramifications of VOY would probably be their meddling with the Borg (Scorpion, Endgame).

Unlikely, given the vast jumps of distance that Voyager made over the series - there’s ten thousand light years between every species we met in seasons one through three and season four, followed by a series of jumps of thousands of light years sporadically over the rest of the series. MAYBE there are some loose affiliations that can grow into greater collections later on, as the centuries pass, but by that point, I wouldn't say it's a matter of "inspired by Voyager" so much as it's just how these civilizations choose to interact in space in general.

None. Most of the races barely met Voyager. There may be already several powers like the UFP, scattered across the quadrant.

The travelers that helped them form it were us: in both the novels and STO the Federation gets slipstream drives working.

I think it depends on exactly what we mean by a DQ Federation. I think it's fairly unlikely that there will be a set of species that band together in emulating worship of Janeway and the Alpha Quadrant Federation.
However, the DQ was full of species in conflict with one another. That means those species have the capacity and the history of waging war, either as the aggressors or those defending themselves.
Over time, those species will either band together in friendship or be swallowed as the little fish in the face of an alliance. Naturally, an analogous concept of a Federation or a Romulan/Klinger Empire will emerge. It is likely but by no means given,, that at least one of these alliances will result in a Federation-like value system.
So the DQ may have its own Federation, but not because of Janeway.
The most likely DQ aliens to be altered by the Federation are probably the Living Witness aliens. They had long term exposure to essentually a Federation officer and his values, and he also became fairly prominent - historically, culturally, and to some degree politically before leaving and heading home.

Here's a wild thought- what if the Course Oblivion copies of the crew were not the only copies to come from the demon planet. There could literally be a planet full of Voyager crewmembers. A permanent DQ Federation colony that could have a much more profound impact than the real crew.

What's the likelihood of a Delta Variant of Concern springing up after the Voyager crew passed on their nasty alpha strain to everyone

That would be so cool, but wasn't the planet with the 37's live on very hard to land on, and I assume also leave. Unless they could build a ship as sturdy as Voyager, it may be difficult for them to join anything.

    That's correct.

But I assume that the Voyager crew could have helped them to build such a ship. They could also have had help from friendly aliens like the Talaxians.

Overall, Delta Quadrant aliens in general seemed like a ragtag bunch, that likely wouldn't get along too well. It's hard to picture them forming a close-knit, unified federation along the lines of the UFP. Maybe "some kind/type/form/sort of" loose trading consortium or something like that would be more feasible.

    Agreed.

One of the things that really set the Delta Quadrant apart from the Alpha and Gamma ones was the total lack of cohesion among aliens societies. At best, a trading alliance might occur, and even that's a long shot.

I believe it's one of the reasons why the Borg flourished so well there... single species groups are easier to assimilate than a multi-planetary alliance working together with all their skills, ideas, and technology.

This exact idea was something I always felt should have been done for the series finale. That Voyager never made it home, and instead Janeway and her crew helped all these disparate alien races to cohere and form an alliance, so that in a century or so later when the Federation finally reached the Delta Quadrant, they would have found another Federation founded by Janeway.

Sadly, they went with a lame Borg and time-travel plot instead.

    You are right about that.

Some "loose trading consortium" and cooperation between certain races would be possible. Voyager actually did encounter some more peeaceful and civilized people during their journey. I could imagine the people on "The 37's planet" and the Talaxians as founders. Or maybe the Haakonian Order which seem to have some power over the Talaxians could play an important role. The Rakosans also seem to be rather friendly.

But I must admit that most of the people Voyager encountered in the Delta Quadrant did seem to have some hidden agenda or turn out to be not exactly what the Voyager crew thougt they would be.

The Enarans who did seem so friendly to start with had actually committed genocide on their planet and tried to hide that, the Sikarians did seem to be nice but were only seeking their own pleasure, the Mokra and Akritirians were horrible and of course we had the Kazon and the Vidiians as the main villains in the area.

Not to mention the Ryol in the excellent Voyager book The Black Shore.

can you imagine the Kazon Videeans and ocampa getting along like brotthers"?

I think a loose alliiance is more likely then a federation.

The odds are about the same as the united states forming a unified coalition of the americas,
after several american states were either plundered or fortified by a mongolian caravan en route.
Voyager would be the mongolian caravan, and the Delta Quandrant would be the united states.
At most, traders in the Delta Quadrant might impose a Voyager tax on future negotiations,
in order to prevent anymore unforewarned interruptions from Voyager during trade negotiations.

I mean, the inhabitants of the Delta Quadrant never seemed to be undergoing any peaceful missions of space exploration. It actually seemed like people in the Delta Quadrant were just going about their business and trying to live their lives and they were not about to go on any missions. They seemed to have little or no expectation of anyone going on a mission in that area. That might be what differentiates the DQ from the rest of the MW.

Maybe, the Delta Quadrant would have eventually proposed a quadrant regulation that anything too out of the ordinary has to either be done elsewhere or at least approved of by anyone else that might accidentally have to get involved due to the unusual activities.
