Does the new edition of the future era actually include the Akira, or just the DIS future ships? Curious mainly.

Akira class is included. The foreword acknowledges it had been left out in the first edition.

For some reason the Yeager-type from DS9 is still not included in the book.

    Aargh, I didn't even notice.

You know what, before they bring out the 3rd edition of this book, we should compile an easy-to-read PDF with Typo corrections (USS Prometheus size) and ship suggestions (USS Yeager, USS Elkins, USS Raging Queen).

Also, the Curry (354m according to Ex Astris Scientia, 380m according to the Eaglemoss magazine) is shown to be only 210 meters long here. They may have confused it with the Centaur.

It really, really doesn't bode well for Eaglemoss when they're getting things like this wrong. The whole point of the books/magazines is to look at the pretty pictures and comparison charts!

Come on guys, sort your shit out. Please. It matters to us and we won't buy your stuff if we can tell before even buying it that the information is all wrong!

Yeah I’m starting to get a little disappointed at the lack of research being put in these books. I’m concerned that their staff may be approaching a kind of burn-out, trying to stay on top of all the new designs being made by multiple shows, with a guarantee to have even more streaming on P+ in the near future.

I was concerned with the level of research when the collection began years ago and was one of the reasons I cancelled my subscription early. I noted that they listed the date of the refit Enterprise to 2271, not 2274 or thereabouts.

We were never given a canon year for the refit, so I'm not sure of the issue.

They shouldn't have given a year at all, but just the decade really.

I’d love a Kelvin-pride as an XXL. In the ‘09 film we saw a huge Kelvin type saucer that is a Uber Connie in my head canon

The five year mission ends in 2270 as per "Q2" and TMP is after 18 months of refits. The original (1993, pre-Voyager) Star Trek Chronology conjectured the year of TMP as 2271, and unfortunately that persists a lot in fandom (and IIRC, the updated 2-volume Star Trek Encyclopedia) despite it being nailed down to being at least 2273.

There ae three references to elapsed tim in tMP.

So the 18 month perod is the later part of s 2.5 year (approximately 30 months) interval when Kirk was chief of starfleet operations and didn't log a single star hour. And there is not anystatement about how long after the five year mission the 2.5 year period began.

When do you think will the USS Toussaint become available from the webshop for non-subscribers? How long did it take for the Future Enterprise D or the ISS Shenzou?

I was shocked when my comic shop guy pulled a Nebula prototype Melbourne out for me this week. I don't think I've gotten a ship in over a year, so I was pretty amazed. I had forgotten I had asked for it and never gotten it. (I get mine via Diamond so I can pick and choose.) It is pretty cool!

I got the DS9 release of Designing Starships. Nothing I haven't seen before but it is nice to have DS9, Defiant, Klingon ships, Jem'Hadar ships etc. together.

Another Eaglemoss Spelling Mistake in the back cover though. Apparently it is the 'lastest' release.

    Eaglemiss, perhaps???

I'd love for them to produce an XL K-7 Space Station. And an XL Bonaventure with more detail.

Gah, great timing for Eaglemoss to decide not to produce any more STO ships - Cryptic have just announced the Legendary Miranda Bundle, which includes a sweet-looking TOS version of the ship, as seen here:

Still waiting on my Tholian Recluse though.
