CW The Flash Season 7 trailer!

Just to be cautious- are we treating these as spoilers? It’s a press release.

Would not surprise me at all if they are hiding some other participants until it airs. It could reveal the end of one particular show before it airs.

These seems to be following up Crisis. Not necessarily plot but characters we have not seen since that. Also new friendships that were setup in that.

With one exception none of these guest stars will be regulars on a CW series next season. Which makes it much easier to schedule them on The Flash. For the expected questions of where’s Superman? He is too busy making his own show.

Surprised Brandon is back after the way he was treated.

And with Mia appearing I wonder if they'll be wrapping up anything from her non-appearing show.

I am very happy to see Brandon back for that reason. Somehow they made amends. Also he that has other role he played.... not predicting anything but you never know.

This is far from A list but I am happy they are using this to tie up unsolved characters. Ryan Choi and Mia are the big ones. Surprised we are not seeing either of the two Canaries.

Who knows though - these things always have surprises or just later cast announcements.

So does this crossover event only happen on episodes of The Flash?
Yes.

From when first announced it was described as a mini crossover. Now it’s more apparent that means it’s guest stars appearing on 5 episodes of the Flash compared to an event cross different series. Even before Covid protocols it was a nightmare scheduling those. To film the crossover appearances on other shows, stars had to have reduced roles in episodes of their own series.

Big difference - this will air over 5 weeks. Though that could change. Pure speculation - to launch it they may air 2 episodes on same night? It’s getting a Title like all the other events and a single storyline

Might work out, hopefully being on one series would make it easier to handle and plan logistically, and while maybe not as epic everyone involved should be onboard and fully bought in.

Hmm... Both Ray Palmer and Ryan Choi? Might a very tiny torch be passed?

A Flash/Black Lightning team-up is one I've wanted to see, given the rapport they established in Crisis. Good to see that followed up on. Too bad we don't get another Barry/Kara team-up, though.

I was hoping that Mia would come back after the finale of Arrow. But I really wanted to see how things played out for her in the future setting. I wonder how she will figure into the Flash storyline.

DC loves using brand names of events and the fonts for the titles from the comics . Even if they have little or no connection to the original storylines.

I remember the Armageddon 2001 event of the comics vividly. That was when I was fairly new to comics. I bought the first issue and some of the tie in annuals. Which was nice because each annual was a stand alone issue of “What If” futures for each titles. I was young and did not have money to buy all issues. Was years before I learned the ending and DC changed it because it leaked before printing.

It’s 30 years since that happened in 1991. I doubt any real connections with that Alien Invasion description.

Dangit. I tuned out The Flash this season (along with Batwoman, Legends, and Stargirl), and I was happy with that decision. But I think they've got me for these five episodes, thanks to Cress Williams and Chyler Leigh.

I figure by this point they'd be okay with referring to Mia as Green Arrow, but none of the articles about this crossover refer to her as such.

Unless Supergirl airs it's final two episodes the same night, the first episode of this story should air the same night as the Supergirl finale (given no other schedule changes).

And yes, the intention with this was to do a crossover without doing a full on crossover "event" due to COVID protocols.

DEADLINE: So, the special event is a temporary replacement for the standard Arrowverse crossover, necessitated by Covid restrictions?

WALLACE: Exactly, and don’t get me wrong. We’d all love to do a traditional crossover, but we’re just not there yet. With Covid protocols and things, it’s just not possible.

I fear Cress Williams will be misused as he was in that Dollar Store Crisis, where his characterization was not there.

I also quit watching legends, Flash and Supergirl, I never have watched the rest but maybe I will watch the crossovers
