Best movie score/soundtrack?

I have all ten, and I guess I've been spoiled by those special releases of music from Star Wars and Lord of the Rings where they have close to every second of the film's soundtrack, because the Trek soundtracks all feel woefully inadequate. :p

As far as the music itself, I like The Motion Picture and The Wrath of Khan the best.

While I hate to bite the hand that feeds me, I too am spoiled and agree with you woeful assessment. ;)

(Not to mention your choices! :D )

"The Mountain" from Star Trek V was fantastic.

Yeah, I like that part too. All the Trek movies have certain parts of the soundtracks that I really love. I'm very partial to the music during Kirk's horseback ride in Generations. But, for overall music if I could only have one soundtrack it would be from "Wrath of Khan." Followed very closely by TMP. Both are great!

It's hard for me to say which score is the best, because I like just about all of them.

The Motion Picture - Introduces the great Enterprise/TNG theme which is my favorite theme of the franchise; great epic score overall

The Wrath of Khan - A great follow-up score; Battle in the Mutara Nebula & Genesis Countdown are especially phenomenal

The Search for Spock - Weaker than TWoK, but still really good; love Stealing the Enterprise (one of Trek's best music cues)

The Voyage Home - like the theme, although it is a little misplaced for a Trek film; the score is the weakest, though; it doesn't match a Trek film

The Final Frontier - Goldsmith returns in force with a great score; not a weak spot to be found

The Undiscovered Country - probably one of my favorite if not my favorite Trek score

Generations - it has good moments, but it's not "big" enough to be a Trek score, especially since a lot of it sounds a lot like what you hear in the series

First Contact - love the FC theme, as well as the music at the climax

Insurrection - a great action score with a nice touching theme for a Trek film

Nemesis - a bit of a mixed bag in the first half, but the last half of the score (once the action kicks in) is phenomenal, especially the Battle Stations cue

Well, The Voyage Home isn't your typical Trek movie. I felt like the score was a good fit for the decidedly lighter fare the film provides.

Very hard to pick just one.

I loved Horner's scores for II & III. And Goldsmith's for V and FC. Eidelman's score for VI is also good to listen to.

This poll was created only a month ago and it's already been closed? Is there a time-limit to these things or something?
