Playmates Toys

Just wanted to show you my very random 3,75" collection! Although I am not sure about that Stargate guy, he seems a bit bigger (yet he is smaller than the Voyager figures). I won him in a competition.

Then two Indiana Jones figures that I bought in a dollar store (or rather Euro shop) more for the accessories they came with than the actual figure.

And William Shatner from Twilight Zone. That's it I'm afraid!

No wait, there is also this Space Precinct guy. I haven't even watched the show. I have no idea why I bought him, my only excuse is that I always like a man in an uniform. I had not realized how small he was when I got him. Someone probably would be very happy to own him. I should throw him back into the market.

He seems to be even smaller than William Shatner though!

That's a wonderfully weird and eclectic group of figures!

I'm not familiar with this set and can't find information right off. When did McFarlane produce it?

It's only just been released. Batcave, Batmobile, 6" Batman, Robin and Joker, all sold separately. There will be exclusive Bruce and Dick "unmasked" versions eventually.

Apparently it's for their 6" scale "DC Retro" figures, also released this year. It looks like that line only includes Batman, Robin, and the Joker from the TV show.

Although the scale of the scale of the new Batcave's computers work better with the 4" Funko (and upcoming Mezco) "Batman '66" figures.

Yeah, that really doesn't look scaled for 6", those 3.75 figures look pretty good in there.

Mezco's Batman figures come with their own Batcave! (which looks inferior to this one, though.)

There's an action figure for that?? Or it's a custom?

It's a custom Therin made.

Funny you should say that... Watch this space. Loom Aleek-Om the Aurelian is almost here.

Arex and M'Ress are 2018 Hallmark ornaments (a twin-pack exclusive at several US conventions), Spock is the commercially available ReAction figure, and Janice Rand, Kyle, Thelin the (part-Aenar) Andorian and Jan Grey are my customs, as is... Loom Aleek-Om, the Aurelian (below)!

Finished up some touch up painting on my “monster maroon” Kirk during my lunch hour (repainting the belt buckle was a real sonofa bitch)and got to thinking.

I hope when they do start releasing figures they keep the core casts as part of each wave. What I mean is make sure there is a “normal” version of Kirk, Picard, Sisko, etc.. readily available. Not like “Kirk from A Piece of the Action”. But just a plain Kirk (for example) in one of his handful of duty uniforms, from the gold shirt, to the green wrap around to the Monster Maroon.

like, if you go back to the original line, if you missed out on the regular Data from the first series you were outta luck, that figure never came out again. You got variations (S1-2 uniform, DS9 uniform, as a Romulan from Unification, etc..) but you never got another just plain Data as he appeared in S3-7.

What kind of paint do you use?

just regular Testors model paint. The acrylic though. I didn’t want to mess with paint thinner.

I didn’t do any touch up to hair/head/hands. But regular black, white and gold all worked fine. For the red I couldnt find an exact match so I had to play with mixing a darker red and a little black and white. It’s not perfect but there wasn’t but a few places on the back to touch up.

I’ve thought about touching up my TNG figures but trying to mix the red/gold/blue-green would be too much of a headache I think. And I don’t want to repaint the figures from top to bottom.

The new future museum in Nuernberg has Playmates toys! XD

I have the TOS communicator and the TNG tricorder too. I actually never had a flip phone, though.
