I can see it. I also don't recall having any issues signing up for Imgur either.
Yep. And the larger size as well when clicked...
Thanks, both of you.
I wrote a message to Imgur – and I was „shocked” when their answer did not start out with the sentence „Hello, I am a robot” (this seems to be the current frenzy these days whenever you try to contact customer service). But in fact, they wrote me a nice email saying that the issue with the code had been reported back by many of their (potential) users. It seems to be a bug and they are currently looking into it.
I found a (Hungarian) website where an article detailed which websites were worth trying if we were looking for repositories for our photos. That made things a little difficult because it seemed that most of those websites only allowed you to upload your photos – not other images and most certainly not images that you had manipulated.
However, I finally found this website:
https://postimages.org
This website looks pretty good. First, because you don’t need to register or open an account. You just go there and start using it. Second because it gives you a link to any picture you would like to upload on fora or message boards or on whatever other sites on the Internet. So if you want to upload something on TrekBBS, just go there, create a link for your picture and put that link between
[ img ] and [ / img ] (without the spaces) on this website and it works (at least it worked for me with the above CARETAKER wallpaper).
Its only downside is that it does resize the picture even though you go for the option of not resizing it. However, my wallpapers are all 1360x768 (the resolution of my screen) and CARETAKER above got reduced to1280x723. That’s an acceptable compromise, right? In the meantime, let’s hope that Imgur will come up with a solution to their bug and that we can finally find a website where we can upload stuff without resizing.
On a more positive note, it does seem that for the time being PINTEREST does not resize already existing images so you will get every wallpaper that has been made for any episodes that we have had so far in the good old 1360x768 format. Only new episodes and other new pictures will be reduced to 1280x723.
