News He-Man anime series from Kevin Smith coming to Netflix

Who says Adam is even into girls?
The aforementioned episode (Pawns of the Game Master) establishes pretty clearly that he's into Teela.

The episode literally ends with Teela telling He-Man (right in front of the Sorceress) that her ideal guy is a combination of him and Adam, to which the Sorceress winks at He-Man.

Oh man, some of those voices in the classic She-Ra cartoon clips are like nails on chalkboard. Didn't remember them sounding like that.

I hear and see a lot of attention from women, but not a lot of real excitement from He-Man toward women. If you want to really make the case He-Man is into women there is that time (The Problem With Power) he carries Teela back home insisting he's happy to do it just a few steps more. It's certainly meant to be flirtatious but you could also read it as him enjoying her needing help since he's usually the needy one as Adam. But you have to shove all these scraps up against a show that is literally a bunch of hyper-muscular, mostly naked men in pastel fetish gear carrying phalluses around.

Girls hitting on you =/= you like girls.

Holy.Shit.

Kevin Smith really needs to buy those YouTube trolls a beer.

I'm not sure that we can take the boys v girls mentality so wonderfully sent up in Dexter's Lab that was quite prevalent in 80s cartoons and assume that Adam was gay.

I've seen lots of what I assume are heterosexual men oiling their torsos and walking around London in their boots and underpants.

Ok, I didn't read all the material on the web. This new series is supposed to be an one time thing only or they talked about sequels?

It's a one-off, but Smith said Netflix is open to the possibility of a continuation, should it do well.

Since it does seem to be doing well, I'd say the chances for a second season are pretty good.

I would like them to do it only for the satisfaction of going to comment under certain Youtube videos by writing: "Look who's talking now ..."

Since Kevin Smith's career is over according yso many YouTube channels, I suppose someone else will have to write it. ;-p

I would love them to do some form of progression like the plan for the 2002 series, working towards a war with Hordak and the amalgamation of the two franchises into a unified story.

I am still amazed at the amount of sheer hatred directed against him. It's not that the original series was this misunderstood masterpiece. Out of more than 130 episodes, how many are still enjoyable today, less than 5? But according to these toxic fans, it seems that he desecrated the original copy of the bible by making drawings on it with crayons.

Me too, but I doubt Netflix would allow them to touch Hordak, who is the main villain in the She-Ra series (the character of She-Ra was already said to be off-limits).

Yeah. It's not even about the show. It's just the latest convenient target for a bout of performative culture-war outrage.

QUOTE="Guy Gardener, post: 13846605, member: 201"]Lets talk about sex.

(Early) Lois wants to bang Superman.

Superman wants Lois to want to bang Clark.

(Early) Lois thinks Clark is a nerd and would't kiss him if it cured her dad's cancer.

Tracking...

Teela wants to bang He-Man.

Adam, who is also He-Man, wants Teela to want to bang Adam, and only Adam, because she should bang him for who he is on the inside.

Teela thinks Adam is effeminate, seriously that's a lot of pink, and a child, and the son of a set of Royals who can command her execution at a whim if their relationship goes badly, or she can't produce children fast enough, but mostly that he's 15.

If Adam/He-Man really is 15, then he certainly shouldn't be so caught up in what body he uses to make sweaty mclovin to a built stacked super cool goddess, because 15 year old boys are toxic one dimensional, superficial mouth breathers, but it seems like he does. He's more worried about his pent teen angst than his knob. Unrealistic writing.

...

I remember in the 1988ish Shazam comic book miniseries Billy, inside Captain Marvel's body thinking to himself "I wonder if the wisdom of Solomon can generate a line to impress this lady??" because he, a 10 year old boy, didn't know what to do when a fully grown woman, was flirting with him.[/QUOTE]

By the way, in the german radio plays, that were released on audio tapes, Teela was Adam's sister
