What is your favorite Star Trek Prop??

The TOS flip top communicator. Why no one has made a cell phone replica I don't know. I would buy it in a second.

Second fav - the extendable viewer at Sulu's helm station. Things are getting serious when that thing starts its slow unfold.

My favorite:

Can you count a Holodeck, Transporter and a Replicator as a prop cause I'd have to say that those are my favourite things from Star Trek.

If not those then I'd have to go with the FC Phaser Rifles. I'd love it if you could buy them along with the all the Type 2 phasers that you can buy.

1. The TNG tricorder. It's also my favorite Star Trek toy.

2. TOS fliptop communicator. Yes, I am a master of "The Kirk flip open" maneuver.

3. Ensign Travis Mayweather.

As a ham radio operator (KAØIAR) I'd have to say a communicator.

Although rather large for a prop I wouldn't mind having a small runabout from the TNG era. Or the Delta Flyer.

Sorry. Holodecks and transporters are usually sets. The only exception I can think of is that portable transporter Data uses in Nemesis. As for the replicators, they're usually built into the sets, so I guess they'd be considered set. If they can be moved, then they're set dressing. But I don't think there were many portable ones.

Filming model of the Refit Enterprise... Second favorite is the intermix chamber from the TMP engine room.

TOS: McCoy's Medical Scanners. They were really salt and pepper shakers. True trivia fact. :)

Maybe. In The Making of Star Trek you can see that some of the conical surgical devices are salt shakers, but I've never seen anything that indicates the scanner he waves over people is a salt shaker. Have you?

As to some of the other comments...

Just to clarify, "prop" is short for "property" which is stuff the actors handle. A set or a set piece is not a prop. If a phaser is sitting on a desk and never touched, it's "dressing". If the actor handles it or uses it, it's a prop.

Handling a part of a set doesn't make it a prop, unless the actor picks it up and walk around with it.

ENT's salt and pepper shakers in the Captain's Mess. I think maybe they were tea balls, but they're beautiful and elegant.

The TOS communicator. Next, the TOS phaser and tricorder.

I like the TNG style tricorders too..

The Search for Spock's Starfleet phaser pistol, communicator, and tricorder. Brillant update of the TOS designs.

I wish these had been used from TMP onward. Not just III, V-VI (tricorder, and communicator), and TNG's Final Mission (phase pistol). :(

I don't know what my favorite Trek prop is (maybe the TOS Tricorder), but I can tell you which prop I really despise:

Probably the TOS Comm, phaser & tricorder. All iconic pieces. My own personal favorite piece I built was a mock up of Spock's bridge console I did years ago while I was growing up. It has a lot of sentimental value. :)
