More to the point the article says:
"There were reports that Yeoh was to star in a Trek spin-off titled Section 31, which then apparently stalled."
Not sure I see the issue. From what I gather this "The Witcher: Blood Origin" thing is a limited series set for 2022. The S31 show is supposed to happen after one of the other show ends. If that's Picard after season 3, I'd expect the S31 show in 2023. So unless there are major delays or a continuation on the Witcher thing, this doesn't seem to impact Yeoh's availability.

Though I'm sure many will celebrate the destruction of Section 31. No doubt it will be a high holy day in Star Trek fandom celebrated for years to come.

I'm not complaining. Given the choice... I'd rather see SNW than S31.
Which is fine. SNW is definitely my preferred series over S31. But, I still want S31 to happen, over Picard, Lower Decks and Prodigy.
She's not cast as the lead character so yeah depending on scheduling it's still possible she could headline a Section 31 series If it still comes to pass.

I don't know about anyone else, but that increases my scepticism about it by at least 300%.
I was wondering about this one. The things it quotes do sound like as if they’re from an actual casting sheet. I’ve also found contradicting opinions about the site itself, it seems sometimes it’s wrong sometimes it’s correct, and it seems to be somewhat correct when it comes to casting news in particular. I would normally dismiss them but I do know how casting sheets sound - exactly like they describe the character. Of course it’s possible they made it all up or that someone gave them a very good casting sheet fake, but still. I dunno. All in all… if it were true it would be a terribly tiresome trope AND also one we already had on TNG, AND Sir Patrick has said he doesn’t want to repeat TNG, so… eh, I dunno. At least this site is really trying to sound legit. That’s the one “good” thing I can say about it.
The suggestion that it will be replaced by "Real Trek" is the most amusing bit to me. What even is "Real Trek"?
My guess would be something closer to Code of Honor and less like Far Beyond the Stars.
