Music to Draw SF by

Howdy Folks,

I'm sorry this might be a little off topic, but I find it much easier to draw while I'm listening to music.
Hopefully, folks won't find it too out of place. I bow to the moderators decisions. I'm still pretty new here and am still getting a feel for the place.

(Some of the Lost In Space music has Alexander Courage's work so it's not entirely off topic...)

Space Ambient, synthwave/retrowave, that stuff rules for anything SF related.

The Intangible -Chiaroscuro

You're good. This is certainly fine by me. :techman:

I think it's interesting to learn what other artists on here are listening while working on their art.

It's a wholly different topic, but I would also like for musical artists to share their music inspired by Trek and/or other Sci-Fi.

I just found out that Constance passed away this last March. Novus Magnificat was one of those albums that I bought on a whim, based on the cover and it had exactly the sound I hoped it would. That was sometime in the mid 90's. The instrument in the second video is one I believe she created called the Space Bass. Amazing that she created sounds like that on something other than a keyboard.

RIP Constance and thank you

I'm shocked that no one has even mentioned Jerry Goldsmith yet. In addition to scoring some of the best Star Trek soundtracks EVER, he also did Alien, Poltergeist, Planet of the Apes, and a literal crap ton of film over the course of several decades. John Eaves, who designs almost all the ships in Trek anymore, has gone on record saying he listened to Goldsmith's work while designing for Trek.

I'm currently cutting out dozens of tiny little yellow feathers (Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgh!!! What am I doing?!?) for this months Trek Art Challenge to Röyksopp - Shores of Easy

I thought of that! I don't think we've had a "Trek Music" board. Interesting to give a shot at Trek/inspired composition.

Not Trek music but a song by a band called Scarlet Stories -Vingt Mille Lieues Sous Les Mers
It is 11 minutes long, prog metal and if you need a dark, melancholic and epic mood then this is one heck of a thing to write or draw to.
