Andy Bray (Chekov) Leaving New Voyages...

Well, how long has New Voyages been in business? How much are the actors being paid? How many of us could put our real lives on hold over that many years to be part of a such a production over that period of time? I think considering that this is at bottom an amateur production being built by volunteers, I think the continuity has been most impressive.
Even if Blood and Fire turns out to be the last effort out of the NV team, I can't see it as anything but a triumph.
New Voyages is a VOLUNTEER effort. Jeff Quinn was scheduled to appear in "Blood and Fire" his work commitments prevented that from happening, thus a replacement was found.
John Lim moved to L.A. to start a new career, Julienne decided to focus on her career, as has Mr. Bray. No conspiracy's, It is called Life. Mind you, that none of these folks are dyed in the wool Trek fans, they are actors who saw an opportunity to work, get exposure and grow in their craft. That is why they chose to do the show, not because they were Fans. "Blood And Fire" is by no means the last production. We are scheduled to begin the next episode right on time, this Spring. This is Not A NETWORK FUNDED project, and inevitably cast changes will occur. I look at it as an opportunity to grow and improve.

It is indeed an opportunity, not only for the production but for other actors to take on these iconic roles and bring something different to the table.
Thanks for addressing the issue James. I really hope everyone agrees that what you managed to accomplish far overrides a slight bump at the parting of the ways. As I said, sometimes there just isn't any "right" way to part company.
Not to derail the thread, but there is a giant Elvis impersonator contest this week at the Florida State Fair. Are you among the 60 or so contenders?

So do I, it was his and John Kelly's performance that really stood out to me when I watched "Come What May." Quinn had that puckish quality in his performance that reminded me of the early first season Spock, while Kelly brought a bit more humanism in his performance as McCoy.
With WEaT, I feel that James has finally made Kirk his own and gotten to a point where he is Kirk. And Charles Root, ya his accent is off but so was Doohans, but he brings a glint of humor in his performance.

I think the SFX and VFX are awesome. The acting is fun and fresh compared to network tv and the show is a good concept. They should try it on tv but TPTB don't want something they didn't come up with to actually succeed.

It's sad, but probably inevitable, that on a fan-produced series producing about one show per year, you're going to get a high turnover in all departments
However, to see all these people leave during the same episode gap, and then to have a farewell message from one of them yanked doesn't look good at all.
Hopefully, there's not so much lingering bitterness that they couldn't come back to the roles if the opportunity arose

I also want to say goodbye and good luck to Andy. You really captured the essence of the part and I look forward to seeing you in future Hollywood roles. It's sad to see some folks go, but I'm happy to see the show go on. These people are doing this for no profit (though I am really curious how you afford all of this - but you don't owe me nuttin') and give it to us for free.

Yea, good luck. That blooper reel I saw on Youtube where you dropped the f-bomb on everyone was friggin' priceless! I laughed my ass off on that one!
That was hilarious. I thought it was smart that he waited long enough so that they could cut it and save most of the scene in editing, but still went for the joke. Smart thinking.
That....or he didn't think of doing it right away.
No, you could read it on his face... looked like he had a bit of a debate with himself about "should I... man... ya, I'm going to".
