I'm surprised how few people have step ladders.
Even if you're not a homeowner, anyone who has tall ceilings and a ceiling light they ever have to change.
There's a story about how I acquired my stepladder. It's not a tall one, just high enough to reach stuff on the top shelf of my cupboards and to help a tall person change the light bulbs (I'm still too short to do it myself).
I bought this thing at Home Hardware, and had to tote it home on the bus. This was in the evening, and I was in danger of missing the bus... so I took a short cut through some tall grass on the boulevard. Common sense and advice from City Hall tells us that mosquitoes love hanging out in tall grass in the early morning and evenings, and you should avoid disturbing them if you don't want to be bitten.
Well, I disturbed a whole cloud of them. They followed me to the bus stop (hey, gourmet feast here - LOTS OF BLOOD FOR EVERYONE!), and onto the bus (which came just as I got to the stop). I was fumbling around for change when the driver told me to "sit down, never mind the fare, I need to get away from these mosquitoes."
So my new ladder and I got a free bus ride home due to the driver trying to outrun a swarm of mosquitoes. And the driver on the bus I transferred to was concerned that I'd be able to get home with the ladder (I was carrying it in one hand and my two canes in the other hand - awkward at best). I assured him that I could make it, as home was across the street and half a block down, and so the ladder and I got off the bus and went home. This was about 10-11 years ago and I still have the ladder. It resides in the space between the fridge and the wall, ready for when it's needed.
I've got everything except for vinyl records, thermos, electric blanket and potato masher. I'm surprised that there are so many that don't even have one wall clock.
If anyone is looking for unusual clocks or decorative ones, I suggest either Etsy or Society 6. Etsy is pricey (but many of the vendors will consider custom orders), and Society 6 has an incredible variety of designs (few of them have numerals, so they have to be hung very precisely to be able to tell the time).
I used to have a Thomas Kinkade wall clock that had bird calls every hour - scared anyone who was here when that happened, as they weren't expecting it.
And a Star Trek Barbie set, still in the box.
Same here. Mine are in the living room, but I was actually thinking about the 18-inch Barbie that's in the room where I am right now. My grandmother collected Barbies, and I still have part of her collection (some of them are mine, but she took to collecting long after I stopped playing with dolls).
