MLB 2021 season: Corn-Driven Humidity

The Reds got their first baseman, manager, and a Padres fan ejected in the top of the first at today's game in San Diego. (Yahoo! Sports)

I'm remembering a ridiculous bench-clearing brawl between the Reds and Pirates back in 2019. David Bell (who had already been ejected) ran all the way from the clubhouse to join in.

Seriously, guys, take some anger management classes or something.

The Reds are so easy to troll....

You can't say that without posting the video of Kyle Farnswith dropping Paul Wilson with a spinebuster so brutal that even Arn Anderson is like, "Damn, son!"

The actual takedown gets shown at about the 1:40 mark.

I watched that one yesterday after the Cubs announcers mentioned it

That was almost as epic as Nolan Ryan beating Robin Ventura's ass.

Big talk about Clint Hurdle considering it's the Reds who keep starting these fights no matter whether they're at home or on the road, and no matter who they're playing against. It's like that old saying, "You run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. You run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."

Seriously. Take, for example, that clip of Paul Wilson getting clobbered so hard that you can see the exact moment he died and rigor mortis began setting in. Wilson was always a hot-headed dickhead, but who was the manager at the time? Jack McKeon, a guy who never had an issue with telling his players to throw at batters' heads. The Reds also have a long history of getting into brawls with both the Pirates and the Cardinals (though, I don't mind if a Cardinal or two gets clotheslined straight to hell). It's pretty clear that, no matter who's filling out the lineup card and making lineup changes (those are really the only two quantifiable impacts a manager has upon a team), the Reds have an institutionalized philosophy of being ready to throw hands at what they see as even the tiniest slight, no matter how immaterial it is, and they've had that philosophy for a long time. And that's without getting into the really shitty behavior of the Nasty Boys...

They were literally in every game off that series and the bullpen screwed it up at the end.

I had to look it up and I had forgotten that Mark Shapiro, infamous for spending several years running Cleveland into the ground, is in charge of the Blue Jays.

I'm so, so sorry.

Up yours.

And unless you can provide a timeline of the Reds instigating more than their share brawls I call bullshit. What comes around goes around.

Be my guest.

(Also, note that biggles wasn't calling you an ass. He was pointing out how shitty the Reds have been to other players--and occasionally their manager, as seen by Dibble going after Sweet Lou.)

And I ain't gonna do your homework for you.

Well, let's see. There's the throwdown between Piniella and Dibble. There's the Farnsworth / Wilson thing, clearly instigated by Wilson. There's the shit with Amir Garrett from 2019, when the Reds were clearly throwing at him because he completely owned their shit. Aw, hell, just watch this:

Thanks for the memories, and I am being serious about that.

How about these if ya' want to see some "stuff" that started some b.s. brawls?
