DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

With the Multiverse and all the various tv and movie versions having specific incarnations of the S symbol. I think the similarity to Cavill’s means it’s likely this Supergirl is related to his character. They could have gone with a completely different design if they wanted to do so.

That would make sense. Having a different version of the hero's symbol seems to be one quickest ways to tell us that it's an alternate universe, so the fact that her costume is so close to Cavill's could mean she's from his universe.

Plus there could be variations on “his universe”. Past, present, and future. Or alternate timelines with Henry Cavill’s Superman and his Krypton.

My speculation - his daughter from a possible future.

One of the cryogenic pods in the Kryptonian ship in the Arctic in MoS was open and empty. There was a tie-in prequel comic (supposedly, haven't read it myself) in which Kara was in that pod and woke up on Earth.

Yes. I would be surprised if they went with that though. The movies seem to be distancing themselves from Snyder’s ideas. That was not even on screen, so it would be very easy to ignore. Interestingly recently Zack Snyder hinted his own explanation for that open pod chamber was not even what was used in the tie in comic. So I guess this could go anywhere now.

It’s been years since I read. But a Kara who arrived on Earth thousands of years in the past seemed a dead end story wise. Would not lead to a Supergirl in the present or have any close relationship to Kal-El.

Probably.

Hard to get excited for this movie. All they seem to want to do with this one is change everything

It's about alternate realities. Comes with the territory.
Yeah but like the comic, it'll end with massive changes.
Apparently, the rumor is this Supergirl is the daughter of Superman which is interesting. Could explain the brunette choice.

It really isn't.

Who has been saying it in interviews?
Don't think anybody actually has, but there is a rumor, based on a recent photo of Calle with what appears to be shorter hair and what we can see of the costume design, that this Supergirl is a version of Superman and Lois's daughter Lara, from the "Injustice" comics.
