And the Next Cancelled Show is...

I think a lot of these networks are going to be shocked that people aren't going to pay for just one show on a streaming service. Netflix & Amazon Prime work because they offer content outside of the norm.

How many subscriptions are they going to get from SEAL Team?
I'm guessing the hope is that folks join Paramount+ for SEAL Team and stay for all the other shit that's on there.

Yeah they need room for NCIS:Hawaii and FBI:International or whatever. Both are going to far outperform SWAT and Clarice on name alone.

Dick Wolf is going to have 9 shows on network TV that he either created the show or the universe, which is unreal.

I am quite bummed to see that Kim's Convenience is being cancelled after 5 seasons, when they had previously announced a 6th season.

I only recently "discovered" the show (I'm in the middle of season 3 right now).

:(
I actually respect the production company for ending it rather than try to continue on without the creators and possibly crank out a final season that's a disappointment. (I'm looking at you, Gilmore Girls.)

I'm going to try and name them all without cheating ... the Law & Orders (SVU, Organized Crime, For the Defense), the Chicagos (Fire, PD, Med), FBI, FBI Most Wanted and ... shit, now I'm blanking ... the fire and rescue show that NBC ordered?

Dude's pretty damn prolific for being well-past retirement age.

Yeah, but they (the creators) disappointed a lot of fans AND stars and crew at the last minute. They all thought they were just about ready to start shooting Season 6 and then the announcement. It took them by surprise.

A lot of other shows went on to not be crappy when the original creators left. They could have done one more season to tidy up all the endings.

Nope, I've got Netflix entirely for Discovery. I'd drop it like a hot brick otherwise. There's nothing else on it that interests me.

I don't disagree, but as was stated above, it sounds like they pulled the rug out from under the cast at the last minute. "Sneak attack!"

That's unfortunate.

I'm really enjoying this show.

Why should FOX keep Prodigal Son when The Masked Singer will draw the same ratings?
Scripted shows cost more to produce than reality shows which makes them less profitable. What costs more? Paying a big salary to actors to act stupid or hiring people who are stupid already and just put the camera on them?

They ordered an FBI: International. Rene Balcer is created for creating it and FBI: Most Wanted. He also was showrunner of Criminal Intent for a long time. I really like his work.

Balcer really kind of fucked up with Law & Order: Los Angeles, though. (Though it did have a creative rebound after the cast shakeup.)

There needs to be a show called The Consultants, starring Richard Castle, Patrick Jane, Lucifer Morningstar, Sherlock Holmes, Charlie Eppes, Johnny Smith and Jessica Fletcher. They're so good at solving crimes they put most of the police force out of work, especially since these consultants are apparently willing to do this full-time for free.

Do you know how many people got Disney+ only for Mandalorian?

I wonder why they are moving Evil to streaming only, maybe they did analytics and think it had the same audience as Good Fight?

Or they just think that anything critics or niches like is more profitable on streaming.

Stuff is being moved to make room for more lucrative primetime spots without having to cancel anything, in my opinion. NCIS: Hawaii will get way more viewers on it's worst day than Evil on it's best day. I love Evil but it's all about ad revenue.
