Things that frustrate us all

I don't get the whole thing against vocalizing while working out. Probably not helpful if you're doing something that isn't particularly strenuous, but if you are pushing or pulling heavy weight, or forcing out extra reps beyond your "normal" range, then it definitely helps focus your physical exertion. In the martial arts there's something similar called "ki-ai" that you are expected to do. If I'm deadlifting 400+ pounds, then I am not going to do it quietly. The only way I can physically do it is if I let out a grunt.

If you're in a gym you're not alone and you're bothering people. Some do it intentionally aka "Look at me and how awesome i am!"

With Martial Arts you would be usually in a Dojo and it's expected there, in a gym it's considered rude.

I guess it's different at the gym I go to because it's private membership with a lot of high level semi-pro to pro powerlifters and physique competitors, and not somewhere like Planet Fitness for the general public.

Yeah, the more expensive and private the gym the more it’s okay. It’s the less committed exercisers who get intimidated.

And nobody would ever be bothered by that at a CrossFit gym.

I just think it’s rude overall.

I can understand if in a dojo or someplace similar, but I meant it more along the lines of the obvious ‘look at me’ types (and we seem to have a lot of those here on Oahu). Or when they throw the dumbbells down after the set, hard enough that they bounce on the mat/ground, etc. That’s just inconsiderate imo.

There was a guy the other day measuring his biceps in front of the mirror(s) after every set...

Cheers,

Sick and tired of space hogging phone updates. Ran into a Samsung browser one that wanted me to free up over 400 mbs. I ignored it and said no. I have nothing that I want to delete. And I ran into a Tumblr update. So hoping to get an sd card asap.

And here's to hoping that I can get said phone sd card slot to open. I wasn't able to before, as it seemed to be stuck.

Gym Grunters? yeah a bit annoying but not as much as those who stand admiring themselves in the mirrors.

And what is it with the growing trend of those who think the only part of the body to work out is the top half, so have inflated arms and chests but skinny legs...just looks weird.

I'm sure there's someone on this board who has connections to the air force and can get us an ejection seat mechanism we can discreetly install under the chair.

My "argh of the day" is a prob many biologists, surgeons and vets are familiar with: I didn't pay attention and gripped a (fortunately sharp and sterile) scalpel blade. Now the tip of my forefinger is cleft to the bone and the band aid makes me hit 2 keys at once all the time. Highly annoying! Plus: with the gazillions of rounds of hand washing due to Corona, the band aid and the butterfly closure must be renewed each time they got wet. I should have put in stitches when it happened. Now it's too late. I'll try switching to a hydrogel pad. That'll last longer in the water.
On the positive side: it's only my 3rd cut in 30 years.

Drivers speeding. Just chill out you're only saving yourself seconds on an average journey. Also, sorry to tell you this but putting more weight on one specific pedal using one specific foot isn't actually that difficult or challenging, so you may think you're a racing driver but actually, nah. Even children could do it.

I ain't a sky pilot, but since you asked. I looked it up.

I have cut off my finger-tips w/ chefs' knives, I do not even won't to imagine doing it w/ a scalpel. :ack:

Update: Got the card. Bad news, f'ing Samsung got rid of the ability to use sd cards as internal storage, so I can't transfer any of my apps to it. :brickwall::censored::scream:

Next phone I'm getting is an LG one. At least I was able to move apps on that one to an sd card.

Damn it, LG is pulling this bs too.

Found out what bs is going on... It's an Android 10 update.

I hate it when someone tells me something is really easy to do. And then I find out it is SUPER hard and complicated. Like the job I am doing right now for our church...I think there maybe no easy jobs in this life?

Some website I haven't been to for years that I must have used the same password as my google account had a leak. So, it made me change my password, no big deal, no damage done. And it's a great feature that Google detects that.

But it also in the progress threw out all my session cookies, for all the sites I've been auto-logged into for years and I have no idea what the hell my password is. So I had to change like ten passwords today, including TrekBBS.

When you go to your Primary Care doctor with a problem and he says "do you want to see [specialist]?" and you say "yes" and he gives you the contact information to make an appointment with [specialist], shouldn't a REFERRAL be generated and sent to your insurance WHEN THE DOCTOR SENDS YOU TO THE SPECIALIST???

Asking for a friend who just got an $1100+ bill because the insurance never got a referral and when I called the provider they said "You have to ASK for a referral." HOW DO YOU THIK I GOT THE SPECIALISTS' NUMBERS?

That sucks, thankfully I live in a country with Universal Health Care and don't have to worry about Medical bills. Health Care should never be for profit.
