She's gonna be a training hologram!

Figured it was going to be a hologram (who also drinks coffee, holo-coffee?). I just want to know how yet another Starfleet ship ended up in the Delta Quadrant, this time without a crew.

I mean, the Caretaker was taking things for a long time. The Equinox ended up out there without apparently Starfleet's knowledge. The Ferengi from TNG ended up out there. What people mean "how did it happen?" That's pretty much a Wednesday for a lot of Starfleet crews to end up in some other part of the galaxy.

The Ferengi ended up there because of the unstable Barzan wormhole. I don't think the Caretaker could be involved, since it seems this ship comes with Holo-Janeway pre-installed, which wouldn't make sense pre-Voyager.

Or another array. Or another wormhole. Or it's a long range automated ship with a training program built in because of Starfleet regulations.

There are multiple possibilities.

There being more than 2 Nacene (Caretakers) in the Delta Quadrant.
I mean, the Caretaker had been taking ships for a while and there's no indication that it was the only array to get what the Caretaker needed. Like I said, multiple possibilities here none of which retcon VOY outright.

That only works if we know when the hologram was created.

Wasn't Voyager Janeway's first command? We don't know how long she was captain, but there's not a lot of wiggle room there.

Good point, and apparently first command was contradicted in another episode so it is uncertain, at best.

But, more my point is simply that the Caretaker could have used a variety of arrays, some of which might still be functional. Or any number of possibilities for a Starfleet ship to end up in the Delta Quadrant. As another thread notes, there was a lot of Earth related stuff in the Delta Quadrant.

I am guessing this new ship was created specifically for exploring the Delta Quadrant. That is why it has a Janeway hologram with presumably all her knowledge of the Delta Quadrant.

how it got there is a different story.

I'm a little surprised at the way they've chosen to portray Janeway on a modern kids show. She's shown here even skinnier than Mulgrew was in her best shape on the old show. I thought there was a big move today about positive and realistic body image, etc.? Janeway as shown here looks taller and thinner than 7 of 9, who was on the show deliberately as eye candy.

Probably to have her be at the same height as the various characters to show her being older than them.
